Hi Barry, Sorry for the confusion. FreeAudiobooks is completely free for online listening—no card or trial is required. You can dismiss the Audiobooks+ offer using the “X” in the top-right corner. Audiobooks+ is optional and adds offline listening and removes ads. — Ed

Thanks for the feedback, and we’re sorry the Audiobooks+ screen made it seem like payment was required. To clarify: FreeBooks is free to use. The core app includes unlimited online reading at no cost, and also offers 3 free audiobooks per month without an Audiobooks+ subscription. The free trial screen you saw is only for Audiobooks+, our optional premium upgrade that unlocks unlimited audiobooks, 90-day early access to new titles, and uninterrupted ad-free listening. We appreciate you pointing out how this could be confusing, and we’ve updated the design and wording to make the difference between the free app and the optional Audiobooks+ upgrade much clearer.
