Needs improvement
I wish this app worked better because I love using my libraries resources. I hope this app improves. To start off with the good things: you can log in with your library card, it's free, and no ads. The bad thing that ruins the app for me: A VERY LIMITED selection of music. Most of the music on here are random cover songs that aren't good. I can't even find any actual Led Zeppelin songs?!

You have like no new Kpop songs I mean u have some but not a lot and not a lot of the artists i like such as babymonster and illit and hearts2hearts if you could get some new songs that would be great!
Disappointing, Ridiculously Non-functional
This is a truly awful app. Promises access to music but when you attempt to use it, it is poorly designed and extremely user unfriendly.
Want to play the song you’ve found after a frustrating search? Sorry, no matter how many times you select it the song won’t play. But instead plays the song above or below the one you’re selecting. Of course you have the option of downloading it - without hearing it first.

Works well, though not a great selection
I cancelled my Spotify a year ago and Freegal helps fill the gap in listening to music on my phone (along with a bunch of CD downloads I have). The app works pretty well, though they don’t have a great recommendation algorithm and the selection is a lot worse compared to Spotify. They don’t have most of the foreign or more obscure bands I listen to, and don’t always have the more popular ones, but theres still plenty of music to listen to there.

Why change font
The font size is small after the recent update. I have to squint to look at songs on playlists.

Seriously who is managing this codebase? Updated the app now gotta hit play album and skip to the song I want to listen to to stream the song I want
Downloads Vanished
This is the second time after updating the app when all my carefully and patiently downloaded music over years has vanished. I am extremely disappointed with this app. It is not worth it to invest the time and expectation in a loosing cause. Be prepared to loose unexpectedly all your downloaded music after updating the app.

Selection is limited, but I'm so grateful there's an app where ads aren't required to listen to music. Thank you for fixing the app and allowing us to listen to free music through our libraries!
Good but redesign uses tiny font
I like this app but with the redesign the font is tiny for the song names and artists.
Just updated today now cannot find library
As with a lot of apps, an update absolutely junked this site! It was an update for their iOS site, works ok on my desktop. Please fix!
The new updated Freegal Music app doesn’t work
When I updated my old app to the new app, the new app never worked, leaving me without any music.
Was trash, now is trashier
Music selection was already a bit strange and missing some major artists. Newest update makes it impossible to find library so good luck listening to anything
Cannot log-in after update
Been using this app for years, suddenly it doesn’t recognize my login credentials anymore, right after the newest update! I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling a few times - Same dead end. Please fix it Freegal. Thank you.
Rating the app not the service
Have an account that works with the website but stopped working with the updated app. 5 Stars for Freegal, one for the app.
Doesn’t work after latest update!
Doesn’t let me login after the latest update. Asks for a city or zip code but everything I put in comes back with an error. I am disappointed because I really did like Freegal.
Great app before this last update
This last update keeps giving me an error code and not allowing me to sign in again. I’ve fairly enjoyed it and has been a great way to pass time on long flights. I hope it gets fixed soon on the next update possibly.
App does not work post june 9/10th 2026 update.
the app logged me out when i updated it. i tried logging back in it had my enter a zip code, city, or country like usual. when i did enter my zip code, city, and country i got an error message that they were all invalid. i even tried entering my libraries name that didn’t work either.
pre update this app is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ with the only issues being the occasional lag spike and lack of decently niche artists. the app worked great before this update if you’re willing to wait for them to fix this bug this app is a great option for free music if you have a library card

WTH?? Cant log in
Got the most recent update. And this app is unusable because it cant find the library. It doesnt accept the zip code, nor city.
