About
The free SIP app for iPhone: make and take calls with your landline or business number through sipgate, easybell, Placetel and other VoIP providers – calls ring even when the app is closed and the screen is locked.
ALWAYS RINGS
iOS puts apps to sleep in the background. That’s why FreeSip comes with its own server in Germany: it accepts your calls, wakes your iPhone via VoIP push and connects the call as soon as the app is ready. No constant background activity, no battery drain.
JUST LIKE A REGULAR CALL
Thanks to CallKit, calls show up on the lock screen and in the iPhone call history. With AirPods or in the car you choose the audio output as usual. Tap a FreeSip entry in the iPhone recents to call back directly.
MULTIPLE NUMBERS, EACH WITH A NAME
Business and private in one app – even from different providers. Name each account: incoming calls show “Alfonso Tutti · XYZ Support” right away. When dialling, you choose which account to call from.
EVERYTHING THAT MATTERS IN A CALL
• Mute, hold, keypad, speaker
• Call waiting: Hold & Accept or End & Accept, then swap between both calls
• Transfer with one tap – save fixed destinations like “Office” once
• Notification for missed calls, with name and account
• Names from your contacts, whether saved with +49, 0049 or 0
SUPPORT CHAT (OPTIONAL)
Answer customer chats from your website or app right in FreeSip – next to your calls. New messages arrive as notifications and you reply straight from there. Share inboxes with your team by invitation: whoever takes a chat replies, everyone else sees who's on it. Connect with a QR code or a simple API with webhooks. If you only make calls, you won't see any of it.
FOR YOUR PROVIDER
Templates for sipgate, easybell and Placetel. For other SIP providers you enter registrar and proxy yourself. FreeSip checks your details with the provider right during setup.
Not supported are accounts that only work on the provider’s own line (often Telekom, Vodafone, 1&1 or a FRITZ!Box as phone system).
PRIVATE AND SECURE
• Connection (TLS) and audio (SRTP) encrypted between iPhone and server
• Your SIP password is stored only as a hash – never in plain text, never on the iPhone
• No call recording, no tracking, no ads
• Contacts and call history stay on your iPhone
FREE AND OPEN
FreeSip is free, with no subscription and no in-app purchases. The source code is published under the GNU AGPLv3 at freesip.app. Call charges are billed by your SIP provider as usual.
English and German – switchable in the app.
FreeSip is an independent project and not affiliated with sipgate, easybell or Placetel.
