Can’t sign into app with my Google account

My FT account has always been sign in with Google. Decided to get the app and actually subscribe to FT Edit. You know, give them money….? But, unlike the website, there’s no option to sign in with Google. So frankly it gets too inconvenient. So I’ll keep my money in my pocket. Thanks.

A joy on my commute

This app is essential reading and often the highlight of my morning. It wouldn’t do as a substitute if I needed the FT for work (and I sometimes supplement it with the FT Weekend) but for my needs it is perfect. Particularly great to have Jay Rayner every weekend now. Bravo to the editors.

Cool Concept, Solid App, Biased Writers

Remember when you read The Economist, FT, and the WSJ for business news? Now, sifting through the implicit and explicit biased against anything Trump is exhausting. Short on details, context, or facts, nearly everything American is off and anything Trump is evil. Hopefully FT will return to objective business-centered journalism one day soon. For now, $5 is the most I’d pay to learn from peers across the pond.

Great app but

Why is it forcing me to use landscape mode on my iPad? No other app for reading I have used makes me change how I’m holding it! Please add portrait mode.

No landscape orientation for iPad.

It makes zero sense to me why there is no landscape orientation for the app on iPad. It's an app for reading articles, but you can't use it in the normal reading orientation? The normal FT app supports landscape just fine, so there is no reason this shouldn't either.

Insightful

Awesome value

Fantastic daily view of the world.

No portrait orientation for iPad?

The iPad app only works in landscape orientation, which is not as convenient for reading. What's worse, the normal FT app DOES support both orientations.

Good value and succinct

Really fine research and succinct well written material easily read or saved daily for catch up. Topical of course with wide coverage. Very good value for money

Great app, good stories, one recommendation

The app itself is great, just enough to read as to not get bombarded with stories. I would highly recommend bringing back dark mode… it is dearly missed.

Rotate

Please add the feature to rotate on the ipad version. Cannot read articles vertically. Thank you.

Always interesting

Always fun and informative- love it! Thanks

Gaslit by FT edit

Be careful when subscribing, because the app is full of technical glitches.

I paid for the £0.99 subscription trial for 6 months, only for the app to suddenly log me out after two weeks and say that I am no longer a subscriber. Wrote to customer service, but received no reply.

Bit the bullet six months later to pay for the £4.99 monthly subscription, only for the app to do the exact same thing two weeks later. Wrote to customer service, sharing a screenshot of my active subscription on my Apple ID, only to be told that no such accounts ever existed.

Have lost £5.99 now without being able to access the app as advertised, because of technical glitches in their service.

Sideways

The iPad app is bizarrely landscape only

Why landscape?

Setup an account.
Downloaded app.
Saw it is landscape only.
Deleted app.

FT seems more nimble than WSJ.

Good content but no portrait mode

Really like the snapshot of the news, although a little expensive it’s fine. However, why is there no portrait option for reading the articles on iPad? Especially when in landscape (the only option) there’s blank spaces either side that don’t get used. Essentially you’re reading in portrait anyway, so why not let us rotate.

Informative and mind opening Articles

I really can not get enough of these beautifully constructed articles that are injected with lots of intellectual fluids…

Audio

Your articles are world class.

Would you consider enhancing the experience to include an audio option?

That would make these great reads an excellent experience.

Best newspaper

I’ve read FT on and off for 30 years. I am American but sometimes to get the news I have to read non-American newspapers to get a better sense of what is happening in the US, and the FT is where I go.

The fact that you have offered a cheaper version with FT edit makes me so grateful, now I can actually afford and enjoy it.

I really appreciate the writings of Janan Ganesh, Gideon Rachman and Martin Wolfe. Thanks gain for such superb journalism
