Interesting App

I like what this tries to do. It doesn’t work for hybrids specifically but still calculates the fuel savings. However, it doesn’t process data consistently and hasn’t calculated mine for a week or so. I report problems but nothing changes and it appears no one is maintaining the app.

Not working

was good

Requires location to “always” be shared

This drains battery and could be a privacy violation. I don’t see why it can’t work with the sharing “only why using“ setting

Little too no cars in this app

This app needs to go back to the drawing board and get cars added to the list no Sierra or Cadillac. How do they think anyone can use it if they don’t have a list of cars to go to. Not everyone drives a hummer or hybrid

Not very accurate

Past several drives was not logged. Yes it was running in the background. So personally I don’t think this app is accurate. I’m gonna delete it.

Needs more work

Can’t find my car

Why can’t there just be a selector for whatever year, make, and model. Most times when you use an app to select a car it has all of the combinations of cars and years. I think it’s missing out on a lot of costumers including me who don’t even have the cars that are listed.

Hi Drew, FuelStar's algorithm uses data from each individual car to help calculate your efficiency and savings. Unfortunately, not all car makers make this data easily accessible so we're working to add more cars to the list. If you want to shoot us an email at support@getfuelstar.com with your car's specific year/make/model, we'll be sure to include it in the next round of updates.

Phone Number? No.

Needs my phone number to send me a text for two factor authentication? Why does an app like this even need 2FA? Are hackers that concerned with my fuel efficiency? You don’t need my number. I’m not giving you my number. This is nothing but just another user data harvesting app. The app privacy card mentions data not linked to the user, but if you collect user phone numbers, it can easily be linked to specific users. Since I can’t access the app otherwise, I’ll simply delete the app. Maybe I’ll develop an app that can tell you which color dog leash would best suit the breed of dog you own. Give me your phone number and I’ll tell you. Unnecessary. Ludicrous. Deleted.

Not good if you don’t own an Acura or Porsche

Only works for Acura and Porsche. No choose of any other car brands. Needs major improvements.

they ask for a phone number to make the use of the app available

I don't understand why they need my phone number for the app to work. I uninstalled it immediately, I don't collaborate with apps that need my information to work.

We don't sell your phone number or use it in any other way, we value the privacy of our users!
