Not free as advertised

App pretends to be free and states “in app purchases” just to hit you with almost three figures in cost to use it once you download. Ridiculous and disappointing.

No option to change annual to monthly subscription, cancel subscription doesn’t work

There is no option to change frequency from annual to monthly subscription when setting up trial period. I tried contacting admin. And received no response.
The option to completely cancel subscription is an option within in the app but the actual button doesn’t work.
Unfortunately moving toward disputing the subscription with my financial institution.

Spanish translation needs fixes

The translation is fairly good, but I’ve caught it multiple times saying the number 10 in English. Sometimes it does this for +5 too. It’s odd.

Обновление

В целом приложение отличное. Но появился значок слева, нажимаем - обновите. Заходим на страничку приложения - версия актуальная. Как исправить???

The founders are Russians

The app itself isn’t bad, but I’m uncomfortable supporting it financially because the founders are Russian and, as far as I’m aware, hasn’t made any public statement about the war. For that reason, I’d personally prefer not to support the company.

Forced purchases only

The app opens to giving you an option to subscribe monthly or annually. When you close it to try it first, it just brings you back to subscribing monthly or annually. This is predatory and led to an instant uninstall.

Forced subscription

I refuse to agree to a subscription, even with a free trial, for an app that I can not even evaluate to see a demo or make sure it works properly on my device. This is a dark pattern and developers should be ashamed for using these tactics in Apps meant for children.

Sneaky subscription model

When you sign up it says you can cancel the free trial subscription at any time in the Settings but it’s nearly impossible to figure out how (I’m still searching).

Response from developer

Hi! The cancellation is in your device's Settings, not inside the app. Go to Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, find Funexpected Math and cancel from there. Hope that helps! If you run into any trouble, write us at support@funexpected.org.

1.7GB sync on iCloud?

App is using 1.7GB on iCloud sync. Have you installed the whole app to iCloud? And why the app is 1.7GB+ in the first place? Do some optimization please…

App Doesn’t Work

I logged in and did the trail version after after my kid had a blast playing with that app Best Buy on their electronic device. I downloaded it create an account and when I select the child’s name, nothing love. When I do it as a guest, it runs and operates, correct

So much fun!

My 5 year old loves this app! He’s learning so much in a short time. I love the visuals and how you can interact with the planet earth and visit different countries. This app is so well thought out. It’s a great math app!

Thank you so much for the kind words! It makes us really happy to hear your son is learning and having fun at the same time. That's exactly what we're here for! 🌍

We love it, but

I wish the roll out of the special events was more consistent. We check the dates for the upcoming events and look forward to them. They frequently do not arrive on time for us despite checking for updates. We still aren’t able to see the Hanami event. UPDATE: thanks for the quick response. We love the special events. Looking forward to the Easter one.

So useful, so successful

It’s a solid learning app like a hidden gem.. It has very strong content in mathematics, abstraction, and geometry, and also difficulty level varies by age group. My two children of different ages both use it. The graphics and games are also very enjoyable. Honestly much better than i expected.
Hope for future updates bring new games.
