The founders are Russians

The app itself isn’t bad, but I’m uncomfortable supporting it financially because the founders are Russian and, as far as I’m aware, hasn’t made any public statement about the war. For that reason, I’d personally prefer not to support the company.

Forced subscription

I refuse to agree to a subscription, even with a free trial, for an app that I can not even evaluate to see a demo or make sure it works properly on my device. This is a dark pattern and developers should be ashamed for using these tactics in Apps meant for children.

Sneaky subscription model

When you sign up it says you can cancel the free trial subscription at any time in the Settings but it’s nearly impossible to figure out how (I’m still searching).

Hi! The cancellation is in your device's Settings, not inside the app. Go to Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, find Funexpected Math and cancel from there. Hope that helps! If you run into any trouble, write us at support@funexpected.org.

1.7GB sync on iCloud?

App is using 1.7GB on iCloud sync. Have you installed the whole app to iCloud? And why the app is 1.7GB+ in the first place? Do some optimization please…

App Doesn’t Work

I logged in and did the trail version after after my kid had a blast playing with that app Best Buy on their electronic device. I downloaded it create an account and when I select the child’s name, nothing love. When I do it as a guest, it runs and operates, correct

So much fun!

My 5 year old loves this app! He’s learning so much in a short time. I love the visuals and how you can interact with the planet earth and visit different countries. This app is so well thought out. It’s a great math app!

We love it, but

I wish the roll out of the special events was more consistent. We check the dates for the upcoming events and look forward to them. They frequently do not arrive on time for us despite checking for updates. We still aren’t able to see the Hanami event. UPDATE: thanks for the quick response. We love the special events. Looking forward to the Easter one.

Отличное приложение

Брали подписку на год т к дочь ( тогда ей было 5) бесплатные ежедневные задания проходила с удовольствием и просила еще , и я скрепя сердце ) оплатила годовую , как с любыми занятиями как только я контролировала и заставляла проходить ежедневно, прогресс нарастал , были месяцы когда я отпускала и ребенок заглядывал в приложение дай бог пару раз и тогда конечно роста никакого , но в целом ребенок намного охотнее соглашался пройти задания чем в других приложениях и уж тем более охотнее чем заниматься в тетрадях

В РФ не работает на iOS

В тестовом периоде поработала неделю , а потом повисла и говорит «проверьте подключение к интернету». Оплатил Pro ( не дёшево) , а она так и просит интернет. Пытался связаться с поддержкой- не вышло просто .

Very slow

The app isn't all bad - there are a lot of good little games, but there are WAY too many pauses and animations between tasks and on startup.. Very slow for adults, let alone kids. You also find yourself doing the same basic thing over and over again.

There are other issues with kids clicking on the wrong thing and going back to a menu which make the slowness more frustrating.

The multiculturalism is not appropriate and adds no value.

I really wanted it to work

We did the free trial period. There’s no option for a parent override of the level. Because of issues with the app not recognizing poor handwriting (like recognizing a 6 or 9 as a 0) or my kid accidentally tapping the wrong thing without being able to correct it herself, she’s stuck on levels that are too easy for her. I like a lot of the games, particularly the balance used for division, but if I can’t adjust the level, it’s not worth the money.

In the Parents Dashboard in the Discover section, you can open an individual game to read more about it and change its difficulty level. You can also adjust the overall learning program difficulty in the app Settings. We really appreciate your feedback and we’ll keep it in mind as we continue improving the experience.
