Solid ballistic data.
I’ve been using this app for about four years now, and if everything is input correctly, data and shooting solutions it gives are spot on. I don’t know why there’s been so many negative reviews. I feel like it’s probably operator error.
You have to be all in on vortex.
If you don’t have a Kestrel or 1400$ binoculars, forget about it. Can’t even access the bullet database if you don’t have the Binos. Maybe the reason why the Hornaday and AB app are so good is because they don’t lock basic features behind buying gear.
Works fine, lots of room for improvement
Some of the reviews are really negative which I feel is unwarranted. I think people forget that $1500 is considered entry level for good range finding binoculars. The app works fine, it gives you a little more data than what is displayed by the binos but not very much. The app gives the ability to trigger the range finder remotely, and add/switch custom profiles to the binos. In my experience the app pairs quickly when the binos are turned on.
What I would like to see is an actually ballistics calculator on the app; Rather than having to trigger the range finder every time to get your adjustments. It would be nice if, based on the profiles you created, and some info gathered from the binos, you could just manually type in your ranges and get your adjustments.
As it stands right now the app is basically useless unless you want to remote trigger the rangefinder, tinker with your profiles, or see a little bit more info than what the binos offer.

No AB in App
Disappointed no additional updates to improve the app has been taken. Vortex had an by opportunity for a great product but missed the mark on the software piece. A little disappointed especially for the price of the hardware I expected a better product.
17+??
Does the age rating really need to be 17+? This app is disabled when Screentime restrictions are enabled and can’t be used.

I really like how the Fury HD Binoculars work. Gives me readings out to 1600 yards or more all the time. Typically over 2000 yards up to 2600 yards. Right before dark it picks up trees out to 3800 yards — maybe further, that was the farthest trees I could find.
I have had to recalibrate the the compass at least two times. Once on a deer hunt. Once while prairie dog hunting. Seems to happen when they get bumped or jarred a bit. They way to tell is to point them magnetic south (or you choose a direction), and capture a wind direction. At magnetic south is should read 180 degrees (or close to that until you are pointed at 180). And at magnetic north it should read in the high 350’s or near zero (ie 360 degrees in a circle). When out of calibration the angle will go down in number and then back up as you turn in a circle and capture angles, never making it from 0 to 360.
Here is what I’d like to see change. Allow the user to have the Fury display EITHER the yardage first OR the elevation and windage scope change first! There is a three second delay until you can see your scope adjustments!!!! This is critical for some hunting situations.
I called and asked Vortex about changing this in the summer, and they said they would submit the request to those who write the software. Fast forward to the fall deer hunt. I had a 30” wide buck on the move through sagebrush as he strapped multiple times. Ranged him multiple times. Last ridge he stopped at I ranged him at 865 yards. Finished dialing the scope. Was putting pressure on the trigger and he moved. I lost three precious 3 seconds waiting to see the final scope adjustment needed. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS DELAY!! Please make this an option in the “Setting” section. I learned today there are other AB range finders that show the holdovers immediately. Even the Fury Phone App shows it very quickly—but who has time to wait by getting out your phone, and then forgetting it if you have to move.
I’ve been practicing out to 1000 yards. Even shot a bull elk at 842 yards this year. I had plenty of time to wait for him.
I’ll change my rating after this is fixed if I’m allowed to get back in and do it. Thanks!!!
I hope some of you have found this helpful. And hopefully the software gets improved!!!

Works great !
Works great had not have no issues as of yet just crash once .
Not supported on Android 13
Sorry folks, but if you are running Android 13 your device is too new to install this app.
Literally Unusable
On my iPhone 14 Pro Max the app crashes immediately after opening when Bluetooth access is granted. The only way to get the app to run is by revoking Bluetooth access in the phone's settings, but then I can't connect my $1500 Fury HDs so the app is essentially useless. Please fix this!
Doesn’t work
Downloaded the App to use with the $1400 binoculars I just bought and it only works if I don’t allow the app access to Bluetooth. This makes the app useless because it does nothing if it doesn’t connect to the binoculars and is the reason I spent the extra $300 for these vs the model that doesn’t use applied ballistics. Fix it and do better vortex. (iPhone 13 running iOS 16.1.1)

Useless
App works only when Bluetooth is off (unable to set/calibrate) and once Bluetooth is on, apps just crashes when trying to open
Doesn’t work
Can’t get the app to open it starts and then poof closes
Back to working!!
Working now with ios16.1. Thanks!
New User_Edit Fields
That app seems to have what is needed to build rifle profiles and upload them easily to my Fury Binoculars. My only gripe so far is how hard fields are to select and edit. It’s hard to select a field, then when it is selected I cannot see a cursor. All fields were edited, but not without a lot of frustration.

Crashes
As the man said in the other review, crashes anytime you have both kestrel and binos linked through Bluetooth. Completely worthless for the reason I bought the kestrel. Junk! Whoever developed and advertised this to be compatible owes me $400
Continually crashes
On both my iPhone (12 Pro Max, 15.6.1) and my iPad the app won’t stay open for more than 2 seconds before crashing. The app will open with Bluetooth turned off on both devices, but that renders the app useless as you can’t connect to the binos. Completely useless right now.

App works great. Need a wind choice though
The App as designed works great. However there does need to be a tab that allows the user to decide which wind speed it pulls from the Kestrel.
It’s currently good, but it could be great.
A few things need to be improved. The biggest thing is there needs to be a way to pull shooting data without ranging a target with the rangefinder. I want to be able to use the AB program in the binos to generate data for a dope card without having to physically range a tgt. This is applicable for both a hunting and competition setting. 2) Entering any info is wonky as you can’t see your cursor. 3) Let me delete rifle templates. 4) create a competition tab where multiple targets could be entered and have the app display the engagement data for each.
I will continue to update the rating as/if improvements are made.
