Intrusive ads

Worked great at first, then the ads started. Each time I opened an alarm to edit it, an ad popped up and would not let me proceed. Had to close, go out, and start over. Then it happened three times in a row today while trying to edit one alarm. Deleted app.

Almost good

I like the concept of the app a lot. Being able to schedule alarms is super helpful as a shift worker whose schedule is constantly changing. I do think the app description is misleading- I downloaded from the Apple App Store and it states that you can add your own alarm sounds. After downloading and spending time scheduling alarms, I searched in the app for how to add my own sounds and eventually found out in the help page that this feature is only available for Android devices. Why say this is a feature when it isn’t? That was disappointing, but not enough for me to delete the app. My next issue is much more frustrating and makes me want to delete the app every time an alarm goes off. The alarms do not stop snoozing 3-5x, no matter what method I use to mark them as done. The banner notification feature that has a “done, skip, snooze” menu snoozes the alarm no matter what. The home screen notifications snooze no matter what I select. Opening the app from a notification and selecting “done” only snoozes- and that is only IF the alarm page actually opens. 80% of the time opening the app doesn’t open the active alarm. The app will show that the alarm is “missed” but even after marking it done or skipped in the missed section, it will continue to go off. I have all my alarms set to the minimum number of snoozes, but they all go off 3-5x no matter what I do and the alarm sounds available in the app are startling, not calm and gentle. It creates so much frustration, stress, and annoyance - I’m dealing with a minimum of 21 alarms going off each day when I’ve only set 7. And this is the paid version of the app. The bugs are awful for something I’m paying for.

So Helpful

This app is exactly what I needed to manage my life as I am so forgetful with my ADHD.

Great app until ads started

The free version is great. They started bombarding with ads every time you want to add/delete/modify alarms. That’d be ok if after watching the ads they could be closed. But nope. So the app is now useless.

Galarm review

Very handy app. Works well

Almost perfect

for a long time, the app works great, especially for a free version. Then I got a notification that to keep the app free I would have to watch ads. The first ad I watched was this highly inappropriate adult site advertisement, I mean, what if younger kids and teens are using this?

Then, the ads started getting longer and longer. They’re all over 30 seconds plus while I’m sitting there trying to just set an alarm. when they end sometimes there’s no visible way to exit out of them without being sent directly to the website so you have to close out the entire app and load it up again. If Apple wasn’t prehistoric and would let you set a future alarm, this wouldn’t be necessary in the first place but here we are.

Sorry for any inappropriate ads you saw. It should NEVER happen based on our logic. We've explained our approach here: https://faqs.galarmapp.com/ad-strategy-to-keep-galarm-free We sincerely thank you for taking the time to write. As development, cloud hosting, notification delivery, and support costs have grown, we've introduced a very limited advertising model for non-Premium users to help keep Galarm sustainable while preserving a generous free experience. We never sell or share your personal data, and we've carefully designed our approach to minimize any disruption. Our goal has always been to help people stay on top of life's important moments and collaborate with family and friends. We've personally invested years of work, and our own resources, into building and continually improving Galarm while keeping its core experience free for everyone.

Used to work great

This app was just what my husband and I needed when we brought home our newborn. We were struggling to get up with just our phone alarm being set for one another, so we got this to force both of us to turn off an alarm. It was very difficult to get right at first though. I had to adjust many phone settings and discovered the app had to always be running to go off. I wish that was explicitly stated somewhere but it wasn’t. After much trial and error, the app worked great. Recently all of that has changed. Our alarms are not going off at all. Sometimes they are being marked as acknowledged before they even go off. Sometimes they just simply don’t go off at all and show up as missed. Sometimes we set the alarm, it shows how long until it’ll go off, my husbands phone will get the notification that the alarm is set, and then come time for the alarm it doesn’t go off and the app shows no record of the alarm ever existing. I messaged support and they told me to follow the online steps, which I had done many times. They then said I need to just create a recurring alarm, but that isn’t conducive to feeding a baby. She’s not on a complete schedule yet so the times switch all the time. This app was amazing but it just isn’t working anymore and I need something reliable to ensure I’m waking up to feed my child. I’m open to talking more with support if we can find a resolution, but the support emails are also not user friendly and confusing. If all else fails I’m going to be looking for a new app unfortunately. I wish this one would’ve stayed consistent because it was great when it worked.

Thanks for writing. We're truly sorry to hear your experience, especially knowing how important Galarm has been in helping you care for your newborn. We can imagine how frustrating, and concerning, this experience must be. What you're describing is NOT expected behavior, and we'd really like to investigate it with you. Rather than continuing over email, would you be willing to join us for a brief Zoom call? We'd be happy to work around your schedule (we know life with a newborn isn't predictable) and troubleshoot this together in real time. If we can reproduce the issue, we'll do everything we can to get it resolved. Please contact us through Settings → Feedback and let us know a few times that work for you, along with your time zone. We genuinely appreciate that you've taken the time to share such detailed feedback, and we'd love the opportunity to make Galarm reliable for your family again.

Cannot stay on track …

…without daily & hourly alarms for ongoing EVERYTHING including meds, appointments, ordering meals

Ads Crash App

I honestly wouldn’t mind the ads in a free app, but they crash the whole app every single time. The premium isn’t expensive ($9.99 p/year), but I don’t need most of the features so will just un-install if the ads don’t get better.

Alarm used to be great…

After finding out that IPhones don’t have an alarm feature for weeks in advance I downloaded this app. It worked wonderfully……until the “targeted ads” started. I am not forced to watch ads for at least 30 seconds before I can set an alarm.
I am currently looking for a new alarm.

Was such a good app until the advert started

It’s a really good app if you have Apple phone as it’s loud and we play on silent however after while you can’t set an alarm without watching an advert which is really annoying

Ad is too long

Totally enjoyed it when no ads. Now, ad display at the start seems to be too long

Free now has Ads

I’ve been using this app for years, and recently they’ve had Ads appear in the middle of typing in the app setting up the alarm, and it sucks now.

I like the app and would probably love the other features but I’m not sure it’s worth paying for.

Contact

App doesn’t let me allow me to add contacts when I’m trying to create a new appointment or alarm… it keeps sending me a link to send to somebody else to register and they’ve already registered, but then there’s no part that says link contacts

Pop-ups!

The app worked well for a long time, and then a lot of pop-up ads began appearing. Sadly, I had to remove the app.

This app is amazing!!!

It so quick and easy to use. I can choose any future random day and time and it has always worked perfectly. I've been using for at least 2yrs.

Love it

Does what every alarm app should do!

On Time

Galarm is the best tool I have used to date to keep me on track. It is easy to set an alarm and reminders. You will not regret downloading this app!!

Sometimes No Sound

I can’t fully depend of just this alarm because sometimes it doesn’t go off or it does but there’s no sound - I just happen to see my phone screen on with the alarm on the page but no sound.
