Super Fun!

This game is a great time killer, and it’s exciting to see your company grow and progress through the ranks. LOVE IT. I have a lot of money, and there’s still so much I haven’t done

All I do is make hall of famers

I AM HIM

An oldie but a goodie

Still playing years later. A rare 10/10.

Fun game

No ads and addictive gameplay

Cult classic

The best way to waste time

Highly rewarding

This is a wonderfully immersive and rewarding business sim game. Enjoyed it thoroughly, beginning to end.

There’s a high degree of replayability with different challenge rules you set for yourself.

OG GAME

It’s process is always fun, the grind to the top is challenging but rewarding once you get grand prize winner all the work pays off!!

Pretty Good Game

I think it’s a nice simple game. Not difficult at all once you understand some of the basics. Unfortunately for me, once I got to about year 14 I got most of my staff all leveled up and I built my own console and literally all my video games were #1 so I never had money issue. It basically just became repetitive at that point. And on year 20 I won a Grand Prize but it is disappointing that you don’t actually win $1 million dollars, you actually just get $5,000 which is dumb. All in all, kept me busy for a few hours. Also, it doesn’t drain your phone battery like other huge games so that’s a plus.

Greasy for beginners before the PC game Software Ince

Game Dev Story is one of those rare games that proves you don’t need cutting-edge graphics or endless complexity to create something memorable. At its core, it’s a simple management simulator about building a game development studio from the ground up, but it manages to be incredibly addictive. Watching a tiny company grow into an industry giant, hiring talented employees, researching new technology, and chasing the dream of creating the next hit game never gets old.

What makes the game special is how well it captures the excitement of game development without burying the player in overwhelming details. Every decision feels meaningful, whether you’re choosing a genre, selecting a platform, training staff, or deciding how much to invest in a new project. There is a satisfying balance between strategy and accessibility that keeps you saying, “Just one more in-game year.”

While modern titles such as Software Inc. offer significantly more depth, customization, and realism, Game Dev Story deserves credit for helping popularize the game studio management genre. It delivered the fantasy of running a successful game company years before many of its successors arrived. Even today, its charm, pacing, and straightforward design make it easy to recommend.

The pixel art has aged surprisingly well, the progression feels rewarding, and the game’s sense of humor gives it a personality that many management simulators lack. It may not have the complexity of newer games, but it remains a classic example of how good gameplay and clever design can stand the test of time.

If you’re interested in management games, game development, or simply want a relaxing and rewarding experience, Game Dev Story is absolutely worth playing. It isn’t just a great game from its era—it is one of the foundations upon which many later game development simulators were built.

Ridiculously Addictive

One of my all time favorites. A love letter to gaming fans and a refreshing break from fantasy or farm type sims. A blast to play. Surprisingly complex.

Took 33 Games and caught me off guard

I have no idea how it took me this long at over 10 Hall of famers and 30 trophies but I finally got the grand prize after 4 sequels.

Best Game Ever!

Been playing this game since its release in 2010, it never gets bored. It’s a small game that doesn’t drain your battery. Great for some quick gameplay during flights, while waiting, etc. I have it on most of my consoles but the iPhone ver is still my fav. I hope Kairosoft can make an official sequel to this game!

I’ve been gaming for a long time, and this one always hits. Thank you, team. This is a gem of a game.

Best Mobile Game O.A.T.

I’ve been playing this game since I was a kid and always seem to come back to it. Wish there was a sequel or something but for now I’ll just keep grinding out Grand Prizes.

One of the greatest games BUT

It’s a shame this version doesn’t have any more actual updates

So much fun

I got this game cause I was bored but it is most fun mobile game I’ve played in a long time, can’t put it down and I would recommend
