Everything is almost perfect

Definitely a game worth checking out. Good graphics, no lag, open world, lots to do, real main characters and some of the actual voice actors as well is a nice touch. The game gets harder as you go completing quest helps you gain more momentum and with the momentum you’re able to pass the missions. Anyways I would download and check it out! I play this as game of thrones plays in the background! lol

GOT

First off this game is freaking awesome. It’s not just a regular phone game. I wish there was a GOT for Xbox but this is the next best thing. I play while at work.

Good game!

Need it on Xbox!!

From a hardcore gamer, ASOIAF book & show lover… AMAZING!! S tier story telling, surprisingly good combat/controls and voice acting is incredible. So many familiar faces and voices. It’s literally like being dropped off at the wall in the middle of season 4. Can’t recommend enough.

Decent but unrefined

Review after >40hours of play on iPhone.
I’ve not followed the show or books to know whether it is true to the storyline but seeing the preview of the game made it look interesting. Graphics grabbed me off the start and the idea of a gritty story through an open sandbox world drew me in. Was a big fan of Mass Effect, Dragon Age, KOTOR style games and thought this might be similar. As a quick synopsis, it is a pale comparison.

Character choices, while having options in dialogue, seem to be fairly linear and don’t really affect the world. Don’t expect that you can define your character on a good/evil or light/dark options. Majority of the time your dialogue leads to battle only, even if you are trying for an alternative. The NPC interactions feel wooden and just going thru the motions to progress the storyline. Also multiple instances where characters speech didn’t match the text below, or was displayed in an Asian language.

Gameplay initially seems fun but controls start to show their limitations as you try to tackle larger foes and want to finesse your fighting style. Perhaps they are easier with a game controller or using a keyboard, but my use was all with touch screen. Being able to customize the button layouts would be beneficial as it can be cluttered when in the heat of combat, and the action of your character didn’t always move how you wanted them to. That or the camera would swing around suddenly tracking the wrong target despite the target lock being on.

Character movement needs refinement, as moving near edges of roofs/cliffs easily sends one off, only to climb back up and try again. Jumping can be painful, when trying to bridge a gap; your character doesn’t run and jumps short, or vice versa, runs and goes too far or lands with a roll and you tumble off the ledge you aimed for. You can also get your character stuck while trying to move around the landscape, between buildings and boxes/crates/rocks. There is a way to reset your character out of those situations but regardless, was a frustrating aspect to exploring the world. Perhaps adding the ability to climb would resolve some of those experiences.

Things to do in game other than storyline. Initially it seems like lots to keep busy with, gathering herbs, hunting animals or bounties, keeping an eye open for tribute hidden through out the world, fighting bandits, tackling ferocious beasts, finding crates/bags with loot, running things at the estate, crafting etc. But it quickly gets repetitive and just feels like it is something to grind away at rather than an enjoyable aspect to the game. The concept is sound, similar ideas implemented by games like Genshin Impact, but seems very sub par comparatively, and needs refinement. Better inventory management, ability to track needed resources, rewards, ease of forging/crafting, or perhaps improvements on the tutorial would help players have a better experience.

There is a lot more to say but this is already too long to read.

Summary: decent bones of a game, but needs work on a lot of aspects to make it long term enjoyable. Sadly, not sure it will be something I try playing again. The world intrigued me but this game didn’t cut it.
