About

BuzzBoard turns one iPhone into the lockout buzzer and scoreboard for your trivia night. Set it flat in the middle of the table, split the screen into 2, 3, or 4 big color zones — each player's name facing their seat — and ask your questions. First tap wins the buzz, locks everyone else out, floods the screen with the winner's color, and buzzes their personal tone. Honest about who was first: - BuzzBoard reads each touch's own timestamp, not the screen frame it happened to land on. - After the first buzz it keeps collecting rival touches for a brief window (adjustable 40–150 ms) before declaring, then shows the real margin: "Ava beat Sam by 0.041s", with third and fourth place listed too. - Touches closer than 2 milliseconds are called what they are — a tie — with its own split-color screen, so nobody is quietly pretended into first place. Built for the host: - A slim control bar on your side of the phone (left or right handed) for re-arm, scoreboard, and host tools — placed on the seam between zones so players can't trip it. - Judge buttons right on the lockout screen: award the points and re-arm in one tap, dock a point, or open a steal that locks out the player who missed. - Adjustable points per question, and an optional 10-second answer countdown drawn as a ring around the winner's name — with a tick each second and a steal offer on timeout. A real scoreboard: - Big glowing scoreboard digits in each player's color, round counter, and a crown on the leader. - Plus/minus steppers for corrections, reset behind a confirmation. - Optional target score: first player to reach it gets the full-screen crown celebration, then start a new game or keep playing. Made for game night: - 2 to 4 players on one phone, names and seat order set up in seconds, 8 color-and-tone combos to claim. - Four distinct buzz tones (a spread major chord, so even back-to-back buzzes sound good), a lockout thunk, and a countdown tick. Sounds respect your ring/silent switch and mix with your music. - Strong haptics on the lockout so the winner feels it even with sound off. Bring your own questions — a trivia deck, a podcast quiz, homework review, or "what did I have for lunch." BuzzBoard is the referee: one-time purchase, no subscription, no ads, no account, works completely offline.
