Expensive with poor functionality.

I think this has such good ratings because it asks you to rate the second you open it, before you even get a chance to use it. It’s a daily subscription, or you can pay $30. $30 for an app of any kind is a little ridiculous, the developer would’ve been better off just making it $3 on the app store.

Money aside, it has rather poor functionality. I was only able to use the free GTA map, as all others are blocked behind a paywall. I found the GTA font difficult to read, which sucks when you’re not driving and REALLY sucks when you are. Also, because you have to use the app instead of it being a blanket overhaul of your carplay UI (tbf I think that’s impossible) you can’t get any perks of other navigation apps. For example I like how Waze warns of cops in the road. I’m not sure how complex the navigation is here, does it account for traffic? I’d be concerned about losing time on every drive because I want a cooler looking map.

On top of all that, usage of the app is bad. Buttons are unresponsive and the UI is not entirely clear. I put a destination in and pressed go, and when I tried to zoom out to see how the route looked on the cool map, it kept snapping back to my location. Just one example of how the UI kinda fights with you.

Overall, I’m disappointed. Really good idea, but very expensive and poor execution. I’d probably look past the poor execution if it were free.

Unequal user treatment, just another subscription app

Some people get an option for a lifetime purchase for virtually the same price as an annual subscription for others like me. Last thing I need these days is another app subscription. Just let me buy your dang product. Pure greed

Great job

I love this app

Everything locked behind a paywall.

This is a good premise for an app but poorly executed. After the initial launch, you are first greeted with an option to purchase and then an option to rate - at this stage you haven’t even had the chance to interact with the app. It also claims there are 500,000 people using it - extremely doubtful and nothing to back it up.

Upon bypassing this you are greeted with the San Andreas map. It looks decent enough but you are restricted to this map only - all others are locked behind premium. You can’t use CarPlay without premium either, and a bunch of other things.

Fair enough, have a premium tier, but offer something a little more for the free tier and/or even offer a free trial so people at least know what they are going for. It is £4 a week, which is very overpriced for what is essentially a map skin considering there are various other free and reliable options without the skin.

No developer info. Website is a free notion site, no transparency or accountability. Uninstalled.

Response from developer

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We understand that our current structure might feel restrictive, and we appreciate the chance to explain the technical reality behind GameWorld. Unlike standard navigation apps, we cannot use the built-in map services provided by Apple because they do not allow for the deep visual skinning and full interface customization that define our experience. To provide you with a live, up-to-date map that actually works for navigation, we must rely on specialized third-party mapping providers. These services charge us ongoing fees to serve and maintain that data in real-time, which represents a significant cost beyond just the visual design. We are a dedicated team working hard to optimize these costs so we can offer the highest quality interface possible while remaining sustainable. We are actively exploring new solutions, such as trial periods and more flexible tiers, to make the value of our premium features more accessible. We hope you will consider keeping an eye on our future updates as we continue to evolve. Best regards, The GameWorld Team.

Not good

Decided to try this, first off it said 3 day free trial but I was charged for it, 2nd there’s only 7 maps to pick , the music just uses a log in account from Spotify or Apple I wouldn’t consider it worth it
