About

Your voice, through their headphones. Headset on, game chat up, three rooms away... and dinner's ready. How can you let the kids know without yelling? Gathr is the family intercom for the headphone era: you speak, their audio politely steps aside, and your actual voice comes through. No yelling up the stairs. No "seen 6:42 PM." Yes, even the gaming PC. Gathr's desktop companion reaches a kid deep in a game on their Windows PC or Mac — your voice ducks the game audio in their headset, they tap or type a reply without leaving the match, and you see "played in their headphones" the moment it lands. The phone-only family apps can't follow your kid to where they actually are. Polite by design. Every message knocks first — a soft signature sound, their volume eases down, then you. Never a jump scare. Their music comes right back. Kids keep their dignity. One tap answers ("coming" · "gimme 2 min" · "can't talk"), replies they write themselves, and a real pause button. When a kid pauses Gathr, you see "paused until 8:47" — honesty instead of silent spying. If you override it for something urgent, they're told. Drop-in calls, when a message isn't enough. Escalate to a live conversation that rings like a phone call. Private like family should be. · Voice messages are deleted on delivery, or within 24 hours. Always. · Words are transcribed on the sender's phone. No AI service ever hears your family. · Kid devices can't record voice. Recordings of your kid don't exist here. · No location. Not "at school," not anywhere. Gathr doesn't know or care. · No ads, no trackers, no analytics in the kid experience. Nothing to sell, because nothing is kept. One parent sets up the household and pairs each device with a QR code. Consent is how it works, not a checkbox. iPhone and iPad, with free Mac and Windows companions so the intercom reaches the homework laptop and the gaming rig, too. Gathr is in early access: the whole app is free while we grow with our first families. Read exactly what exists about your kid (almost nothing) at https://gathr.family/kids-privacy.
