didn't tell him I doubted him until after

my partner got me a rose quartz heart for our anniversary from some little roadside shop and I did not want to seem ungrateful by questioning it out loud in front of him so I just went to the bathroom and scanned it real quick. genuine, 89%. told him later, he thought it was funny that I doubted him. we'd also just had tacos from this place that gave both of us food poisoning later that night, unrelated, but that's the night I remember this happening

Response from developer

We love that GemBrain could help verify the rose quartz discreetly. Thank you for sharing that story!

if it's fake does it even work

I hate that I'm even asking this question but if it's fake does it even work, I mean spiritually. anyway scanned my "black tourmaline," $22, turned out to be dyed obsidian. weirdly relieved to actually know instead of using it for protection stuff and wondering the whole time. already eyeing a real one to replace it

Response from developer

Real answers instead of wondering is exactly what we're here for. Glad GemBrain could help you make that informed choice for your collection.

Solid ID, would love deeper valuation data eventually

The identification engine is better than I expected going in, and I say that as someone who wrote this whole category off after Rockd embarrassed itself years back. I ran it on a Tsumeb specimen I paid $1,850 for and the species and physical data came back accurate, which is what actually matters to me. I'd like the valuation ranges to get sharper about collector-grade versus bulk specimen pricing at some point, but that's a wish list item, not a complaint β€” the identifications themselves are what I'm paying for.

Response from developer

Thank you! Accuracy on collector-grade specimens like that Tsumeb is exactly what we're aiming for. We'll definitely look into refining the valuation data for collector versus bulk pricing.

does the pricing math for me now

identifies fine and gives me a starting range, reddit is great if you have two days and don't mind wrong answers, this is at least right now. still hop on ebay after for sold comps but that's on me not the app

Response from developer

Thanks for the review! Quick, accurate valuations instead of waiting days on Reddit is exactly what we're going for.

my aunt's shoebox

aunt passed and i inherited a shoebox of loose stones nobody in the family could id. did the whole thing at my kitchen table in one night instead of waiting a week on a jeweler appointment. found a couple pieces worth listing on their own

Response from developer

That's exactly what we built this for -- identifying your aunt's stones at home in one night instead of waiting on a jeweler. We're glad you found those valuable pieces.
