Amazing app but some customization features would be nice
The app overall is great i have no issues with it whatsoever. Though, I dont really like that profile customization is not an option. Especially since it forces you to keep your google pfp/apple/what you signed in with. My profile pic is Albert/Flamingo but like when he was 12 or smth lol. But unfortunately not everyone knows that so i look like a child.

The popup ads that appear when tapping in to a highlighted lyric have are extremely annoying and have broken the app

Video Ads
Used to love this app. Now there are video ads that keep causing my music to shut off. This makes it so I can’t listen to the song while reading lyrics. This is disappointing, annoying, and makes me want to delete the app.
Great to find lyrics, doesn’t like to be selected
Either on the website or app, the adds are aggravating, the lyrics that are selected jump up and down of the display, and the app keeps lagging. This has to be fixed.

Won't load on iOS 26.5.2 on iPhone 17
I am running the genius iPhone app on iOS 26.5.2 on iPhone 17 and I can't get past the intro pages (using either "skip" or "next" it always freezes on Taylor Swift screen.

This app is perfect, cuz usually I use google and it takes around 5 minutes to find the most accurate lyric but this only takes FIVE MINUTES. I love you Genius (^_^)
app does not load
for some reason it never let me go fully in the app, it’s always blank and none of the buttons work.2
Death by Ads
Pop up ads break the app, making it not worth using anymore. You tap on highlighted lyrics, a pop up appears, you close the pop up, then you can’t go back to the main song lyrics. You have to close the app and search again.

Abysmal
For an app that released before I could drive, there has never been a good update. I don’t care about ui I don’t care about ads. The goal of the app is broken, the search function is unusable, the brand itself is stale and depreciating. This idea has great potential but unfortunately I only use this app if I have to.

Can’t sort way I want
This app is awful. I can’t sort songs by artists by release date the way I can on the desktop version. When I’m on my phone using the desktop version in Safari it often persuades me to use the awful app be throwing ads in my face and occasionally switching to an app version on Safari. I prefer other music databases.
