I gave this game a chance as an old player.
The designs: feels repetitive and contains fan service. Some of the colours clash with the character (cough,cough, Columbia.) I miss the lore relevance within the character design.

My top 2 favourite games of all time! Been here since 2021 (Ty sis for introducing me to this masterpiece). Fun in every way imaginable. It’s hard in some aspects but still doable. My only advice would be to stay two donkeys away from the fandom! Very problematic and obviously full of larpers who don’t even know how the game works. So for your own sanity and game enjoyment, stay away from Genshin tik tok community🫰

I quit Genshin and you should too
My dearest Genshin, for dearest you will always be to me, it’s time to let you go. As a player who has been playing this game since its release, I’ve had a lot of complaints, just like other long-time players. Not once have our complaints and requests to improve the game been heard. The game still has the same terrible reward system, there’s no button to skip side quests and unnecessary dialogues, Genshin is still as time-consuming as ever. Lately, I’ve only been logging in to follow the story, but when I realized that even the story was starting to lose its luster, I knew I didn’t want to waste my time on a game whose developers couldn’t care less about improving the game. All you get from an hour of gameplay is uninteresting dialogue, a protagonist with questionable morals, the forced romanticization of certain characters, the inability to skip unnecessary in-game events, and a measly reward of 15 Primogems. Stop wasting your money on this, leave an honest review, and maybe then the developers will listen to the players’ opinions.

This game is greedy and annoying
I personally don’t like this game even tho I’ve played for quite some time but genuinely it’s hard to get characters I never hit 50/50 I only have 2 five stars plus this game gives kids gambling addictions I hope that hoyo gives us another 60 pulls like last time to satisfy us other then that this game is horrid

This game feels boring
I’ve been a player since April 2021, I loved this game ever since. I’ve tried playing other gacha games and I cant help but compare the qol of other games with this game. It’s just super boring to explore now compared to before. no skip button (they gave the game a half as* button) and the events are SUPER BORING compared to other game.

It’s not F2P friendly, devs don’t listen to their players feedback, little to no rewards, no skip button, repetitive characters and content, overall not a good game anymore. Listen to me as a long time player, it’s not worth your time or money anymore.

Lost its quality in exchange for botched stories and fanservice
I used to play Genshin a lot back in 2022 and deleted the game due to storage issues. But when I returned I learned that the game went through whole lot of controversy, from the McDonalds collab to the entirety of Natlan to now.
If you are also a veteran player that planned on returning to Genshin for nostalgia’s sake: DON’T. That’s all I have to say, just. Don’t
There’s quite a few YouTube videos out there explaining the current state of Genshin right now but I’ll try to summarize them for simplicity’s sake:
-Very greedy: Sadly almost any and all games fall into this fate, including Gacha games. But compared to all the others Genshin is actually the least generous of them all, it’s gotten so bad to the point where ENTIRE NATIONS are pay to win (and the Resin system hasn’t changed at all)
-Botched story: Remember the days where Genshin had masterpieces such as Liyue and Sumeru? Well sadly nowadays Genshin is copying MLP for some reason, it’s also way too scared to kill off playable characters or make them evil, they also don’t want to add any impacting changes for some reason, one of my favorite nations with my favorite Archon Quest: Fontaine, while does have an amazing story. Doesn’t add any lasting impacts sadly :(
And if there ARE lasting changes, they’re either fixed or hardly acknowledged at all!
-Fanservicey designs: This one REALLY makes my blood boil, this is a problem that affects 99% of female characters, with the 1% being older characters and a Harbinger that was WASTED, that problem being the overused fanservicey designs. A lot of new female characters have these four distinct design traits
1. Very top heavy with almost NOTHING on the bottom, except for an abysmally small skirt at times and stockings
2. Often fulfills some kind of fetish, there’s one character, that has a trailer THAT IS LITERALLY JUST FOOD PORN, there’s also another character that is extremely weird to Melusines. (THAT LOOK LIKE CHILDREN BTW) One character does that stupid slutty table crawl and there’s another in a short skirted maid outfit. A SHORT SKIRTRD MAID OUTFIT
3. Exposed backs, some characters also have their backs exposed for no reason. There is a chef character out there that is literally ONLY WEARING HER APRON, NOTHING ELSE!! And there’s also the Pyro Archon which that itself is a whole other can of worms
Overall the game has sadly been changed to cater to an entirely different audience because the devs knew that they made the most profit. The games just not for you or me either. I will forever mourn those who used their IRL money for this game…
Also it’s obviously a Gacha game, and those games are really predatory in general, but if you are the kind of person that likes fanservicey Gacha games, try Zenless Zone Zero! Sure it’s made by the same company but it wears it fanservice on its sleeve and it’s gender equal too! Maid dresses and all.
