What's New in GeoLog
3.1
May 28, 2026
GeoLog 3.1 Live Light Meter The Exposure calculator now includes a built-in incident light meter that activates automatically. Switch between Manual, Aperture Priority, and Shutter Priority — the meter drives your triangle in real time. Camera EV and Scene EV display side by side so you always know whether the number you're reading is a property of your camera or the light itself. Milky Way & Solar Cycle The Ephemeris compass now traces the galactic plane across your local sky — a purple arc marking the full galactic disk with a brighter core glow. Solar cycle phase labels (Golden Hour, Blue Hour, Nautical Twilight, and 17 more) update live as you scrub through the day. GPS & Compass Accuracy GeoLog captures sensor accuracy at the exact moment you shoot — data standard EXIF doesn't record. A live readout in the Camera shows quality before you commit. Accuracy travels with every photo across Ephemeris, Location Detail, and Photo Reference views, color-coded so you know which locations to trust for tonight's planning session. Automatic alerts in Camera and Ephemeris warn you when either sensor falls below threshold. Location Addresses Location Detail address now displays in three tiers — Points of Interest and named landmarks first, followed by the street address block, then county and country. Each tier appears only when data is available. What's New & Release Notes Release notes now appear automatically on first launch after an update. The full history is always available in Settings → Release Notes. Improvements * Solar cycle phase labels with tappable definitions * ND filter redesigned as a 14-preset pick-list * Fractional shutter speeds display as ¹⁄60, ¹⁄125, ¹⁄500 * EV and Scene EV side-by-side with info sheets for each * Film reciprocity expanded with Cinestill BwXX and Harman Phoenix II 200 * Photo reference preview on long-press in Ephemeris * Tiered address display in Location Detail * Location search with colored category icons and direct-action history * Delete mode UX with title and cancel button * Light meter auto-off timer in Settings → Photography * Offline geocoding fast-fail — no timeout delay in the field * Help screen paragraph spacing consistency
