Learning tons, small issue
Learning the countries extremely fast with this App. Wish the selection of the islands was a little easier. Main issues is there are two Nigerias in Africa making a perfect score almost impossible.
Crashed a lot
The game was fun but crashed often. I decided to delete it.

Effective, I'm learning a lot
My first two comments echo those of other reviews:
(1) this is what I wanted
(2) The game uses the name Nigeria for both Nigeria and Niger, frustrating to have to guess.
(3) Nice touch for a drill app! He doesn't go through all the items before retrying you on the errors. After you've had some errors, he mixes some retries in with new material. I like this because the errors are still somewhat fresh, and I can learn from them. The obvious way to do drills (hit all items then come back for retries) actually can leave me bewildered with all the unknowns ( as Africa might have done when I first got this app).
I'm a senior--I love geography, but I've forgotten some of the countries I knew as a kid, and a bunch of them have changed!
While I would learn better if I also studied the map occasionally, this simple flash card testing tool was very effective at getting me to learn the countries of Africa.
First time it took over half an hour. Sixth time I think it took less than ten minutes, and I had a much better score.
Yes the tiny countries and especially the islands have very tiny hotspots. (For example, it looks like Gambia can only be separated from Senegal by touching the eastern tip of Gambia.) that, too, is frustrating.
Still, I wanted a visual way to practice reminding myself of geography, and this is it! Five stars from me.

So much fun for a geo app.
This app is a lot of fun however the zooming and selecting of country's and islands need some work. It's too difficult to select islands like Guam for example.
Great way to learn!
I'm enjoying the game very much. The only difficulty is that it's near impossible to select the smaller countries, especially islands. Sometimes I'll think I have chosen one country, and will find out its another when I get it wrong.
Also, in Africa, there are two Nigerias, and no Niger. This needs to be corrected. Thanks!!

Crashes
You have to zoom in way too much for the smaller countries and when you do it usually crashes. Also incredibly annoying when I'm trying to push the checkmark and it highlights a different country in that corner. Would be a great learning tool if it didn't crash so often.
Too difficult for me...
This is not an educational tool. It is simply a test of your knowledge. I will admit i only played the arcade version on easy for a short while but i immediately searched for a diff app.
Once you guess where a country is located you lose a star but it does not tell you the correct location. That is not what i want, that is not going to improve my geo knowledge. :(

I never write reviews
However I do enjoy this application and wish to see it bettered. Smaller countries are really hard to select. I have to zoom in a lot to select countries like Azores or Cape Verde in Africa. Also one other thing I've noticed about African country is that there is no distinction between Niger and Nigeria. Both are labeled Nigeria. Otherwise, maybe make the touch more smoother. Perhaps allow like a triple click feature to select a country instead of having to click the green check mark. I say that because sometimes as I click the green check mark it accidentally selects another country for me. I know that these are picky details but like I said, I really want to see this app go far. FIX AFRICA!
Instead of Niger and Nigeria the app has both countries labeled "Nigeria" so even if you click on Nigeria if its what the game considers Niger you get it wrong!
Bug Fixes
Great app but it quits out every time I try to test for Europe or Asia, and it's difficult to move around the maps. With some bug fixes, this app could definitely be a fantastic learning tool.

This is a great app to learn the locations of countries. Before I started using this, I could only locate 1/4 of the African countries - now I know them all! I hope they make it easier to select islands, though, because it is time-consuming to select small islands. Finally, it is misleading that "Madeira" or "canary islands" come up since they're not countries unto themselves.

The idea is great but...
- It's difficult to zoom in
- Even when I zoom in all the way through, sometimes I have to click several times before it selects small islands or countries
- When I try to drag the map around, it's not smooth, it's awkward.
As I said, the idea is great (nice resolution, nice to have a confirm button), but other apps work better.

Great learning app/game
Really good, fun and interactive, looks great, accurate and helps loads!
Brilliant
I've never really felt the desire to learn much geography before but this app makes it really easy and a lot of fun. It can be quite challenging and times but the more you play the easier it is to remember. The graphics are nice to look at too. Like some other users I do have the problem where selecting smaller countries is hard to do, a zoom option would be much appreciated.

This is more like a game app for me XD, finishing the quiz is so much fun and most importantly, this app provides a effective way to help the user remember the location of countries all over the world. Love it, but will be better if I can play it on my iPad.
