Sprachausgabe in Englisch funktioniert nicht
Leider funktioniert die englische Sprachausgabe nicht. Die englischen Wörter werden deutsch ausgesprochen.

Leider fehlen massenhaft wichtiger Wörter und man ahnt die politische Absicht hinter der Auswahl der verfügbaren Vokabeln.

Danke für das Update. Aber der Dark Mode funktioniert noch nicht richtig. Sowohl bei search, recents, favorites, speech output ist der Dark Mode nicht konsequent.

Die Eingabe von 3 Buchstaben öffnen die Trefferliste aus EN sowie DE Wörtern. Kein umständliches Umschalten auf DE oder EN, was andere App erfordern.
Ich schätze die App auch, weil sie sehr schnell startet, einfach in der Bedienung ist, und als offline Programm findet man so gut wie alle Wörter. Perfekt für kurze, schnelle und einfache Wortübersetzung DE<>EN
Ein Punkt Abzug weil nach Programmstart kann man nicht sofort eingeben, sondern muss erst das Suchfeld aktivieren damit die Eingabe-Tastatur erscheint. Schade, ansonsten perfekt.

Super Update
Ich freue mich das die Entwickler nach nach 5 Jahren mit einem aktuellen Design die App wieder rundum erneuert haben. Die App funktioniert wie früher tadellos.

Great for words, Not so Great for phrases
Probably one of the most comprehensive dictionaries for words, but there are close to no phrases.

A heavily used and favorite app
I love this app. I went on an exchange in Germany and used this app daily. It was wonderful. It not only gives you the translation of almost any word, but it gives you some conjugations and how it is used as well. I'm completely satisfied with this app. I wish there was a Nifty Words for Italian too!

Can't match with other professional dictionaries.
Good app with room to improve
I haven't checked other German-English dictionaries, so I can't tell if this is the best or if there are better ones available. As for this one, it is good
Pros:
Decent coverage of everyday phrases.
Search after 3 characters in both languages is very useful and convenient
Price is OK
Cons:
When I was checking out the app extension I found a typo "standart" in the welcome screen. That does not give my high confidence in the spelling accuracy.
Way too much focus on British English provided that the are approx. 6 times more Americans around.
Recommendation: get a native American speaker involved in a version 2.0

I have been through many language apps, and I study German the most. So far, I trust and use this app the most. I really wish thus developer would do more languages.

Diese App habe ich leider zu spät entdeckt. D.h. der einzige Schaden ist, dass ich vorher fast 8€ für eine App ausgegeben habe, die lange nicht das wie diese hier leistet. Aber mit nun bin ich voll zufrieden, kann mich allen anderen Rezensenten nur anschließen. Ein Hinweis noch: Mir würde gefallen, wenn die konjugierten Formen der unregelmäßigen Verben auch in der Suche erscheinen würden, einzelne habe ich gefunden, aber in der Regel kommen sie nicht. Vielleicht ein Tipp für die Weiterentwicklung? Aber das tut meiner Begeisterung für diese Anwendung keinen Abbruch!

This is a really quick, accurate, and respected source. I am learning German and I prefer this to google translate. And for only 99¢ it's a good deal!
Best of the bunch, but that's a low bar
Spending 80 hours in Munich studying German. There is no single perfect dictionary, except the several inch thick paper variety. Of the 4 I've cycled through, this is the one I reliably go to & find mostly correct translations quickly & easily. It's a relatively small dictionary, but for everyday words is great. Biggest complaint is that the 'neuter' or das symbol looks too much like symbol for feminine, at least on iPhone screen - whether right or not, please make it more distinct! (I'd add a star if they'd fix that). Otherwise, very good for the price.

Great German dictionary!
Used it to decipher menus and to try and remember my limited German. Worked great! Found almost every word I was searching for, and loved the conjugation of verbs!

Great, simple little app.
I'm glad I downloaded this app, definitely worth the $1.99. It will be great to decipher German signs without racking up the roaming charges. You can enter German characters, e.g. ä, ö, ü or ß (double s) by holding down the a, o, u or s key on the iPhone keypad for a few seconds and waiting for a menu to pop up with other choices.
