The Ghost app provides you with a temporary, local phone number that allows you to send and receive SMS messages and make unlimited calls without revealing your personal phone number. It's designed to protect your privacy and prevent spam when signing up for online services, selling items, or interacting with strangers.
Key features include receiving SMS verification codes, making unlimited calls, choosing a local area code from over 200 options in the U.S., Canada, or the U.K., VPN protection, real-time spam shielding, and the ability to delete your temporary number at any time.
Ghost requires an auto-renewing subscription. Pricing is $48 or $50 every two months, depending on the plan selected, for access to its services. You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time.
The application data does not specify exact device compatibility, but it is designed for mobile use. It operates entirely within the app, meaning no SIM card swaps or long-term plans are necessary, suggesting broad smartphone compatibility.
You should use a Ghost number for online verifications (banks, social apps), selling items on classifieds, signing up for promotions or newsletters, temporary travel use to get local numbers, or for professional listings where you want to separate work and personal contacts.
