I have a subscription I can’t use
I have a subscription to Caption writer which is the old version of this app until July 2026. I can’t use the app anymore because no one will respond. I wish I was notified the app was changing and given my options.
Bring back the OG Caption Writer!
Since update I can’t log in and just an unnecessary annoyance. Cancelling my subscription and using another app from now on.

Really appreciate how easy it was to get support.
I’ve been using this app for years, mostly for the character counter.
It’s honestly a lifesaver when I’m writing those long IG captions or trying to fit everything into a YouTube Shorts title.
The formatting tools are super handy too.
Love being able to add line breaks and keep things looking clean.
It just makes the whole process feel a lot smoother.
And having a bunch of different fonts to play around with is a nice bonus.
It’s cool to have options when you want your posts to stand out a bit.
Just wanted to say thanks again for making things so simple.
Definitely planning to stick with this app for a while.

Horrible Worst UPDATE Ever
I had the previous version of this app when it was called Caption. I organized my content into folders and had over 2 years of content stories. Out of the blue they destroyed the app with this AI nonsense and removed what it was for. To create captions with spaces and to easily tell the number of characters for post.
I’ve lost 2-3 years of captions and all of my preloaded captions that I created.
The app is useless now. You can’t count characters or create.
Now we have an unusable app and weeks of content I created in advance is gone in an instant. Horrible app! Horrible do not use!

Where did my work go
Such a terrible update, nothing in the new app is the same. All the functions changed and all of my work is gone. Something I was happily paying for previously will now be losing my money. Plus it’s glitching today 😭
Unusable since ai integration
Recent change to ai means manually writing a caption using your own intellect is now almost impossible. The app is now totally unusable to me. I get the need to integrate ai these days but entirely replacing the main functionality so the app bares zero resemblance to itself pre update is mind boggling…

Losing all my captions!
I’ve been a paid user for years and had tons of saved and categorized captions in this app only to open it and see none of my captions and trash AI. What is going on here?! I paid monthly to ensure I could access my own written captions that I use and reuse often. Where was the warning on this? And where are my captions? I’m not interested in having Ai write my content. This was a great app and now I don’t know what to think.

What happened to the original
All the work I put into my hashtags and templates and now they are all gone. What happened to the original app why was it replaced with this new and not improved app. Why was this changed ?

I paid for a full year of Caption Writer. There was absolutely no notice of changing to Ghost.
Ghost doesn’t even work the same or do what I paid for. My old captions, that I used to reference via search, no longer exist.

No to AI
I do not want AI forced on me. I appreciated the simplicity of the previous version for typing up & saving captions, and simple one-tap copying for pasting into IG.

What I noticed is that the days I post anything thoughtful, people respond. The days I don’t, nothing happens. That sounds obvious, but it took me a while to internalize it.
Ghost fits into that realization pretty well. I don’t really think about it as an “AI app” or whatever. It’s more like a place I check in the morning to see if there’s something worth sharing. Sometimes there is, sometimes I change it to match something I’m already thinking about, sometimes it just sparks a better version of my own thought.
What matters is that it keeps me participating instead of lurking. And once you’re participating, the network part kind of takes care of itself. People reply. They DM. They remember you exist.
That’s been the actual value for me.

Saves me a ton of time!!
I don’t usually leave reviews but this update deserves one. Ten stars.
I’m working on a recipe app and trying to grow it in public, and posting consistently was always the first thing to slip. Not because I didn’t care — I just want to spend my time improving the app. Ghost handles the social part now. Some days I post exactly what it gives me, some days I edit it, but either way I’m actually showing up. That alone makes it worth it.

Loving this new update!
The new update to Ghost is honestly kind of insane.
I used to sit there way too long thinking “ok what do I even post today” and half the time I’d just close the app and do nothing. Now I open Ghost and it literally tells me what to post every day! Most days I just post it as-is, sometimes I tweak a line, but either way the thinking is done.
It also actually sounds like me, which I didn’t expect at all! Posting feels easy now instead of annoying. If you know you should be posting but always get stuck, this update is a game changer.

Don’t delete the app (unless you want to lose everything)
I used this app faithfully for almost 5 years as a Pro member. It recently wouldn’t load so I deleted it, thinking – wrongly, it turned out – that as someone who’s paid $35/ year for 5 years with (supposedly) cloud storage that my captions would be restored upon logging back in. Nope. And not only did I lose 5 years’ worth of captions, but when I logged back in, it dropped me into its limited tier despite the fact that my paid subscription renews in less than a month. When they didn’t respond to the support email address I used previously, I deleted the app. Not sure what’s going on here, but it isn’t the app it used to be.

Used to love this app but the new charge of $19.99/month is ridiculous. The free version is useless.
