Great App, but the Double Paywall Is Ridiculous
Not only does the app require a subscription, but it also operates on a digital currency called “Stars.” Once you run out of Stars, you’re expected to spend even more money to continue enjoying content in an app you’re already paying to use.
The app gives you approximately 20 free Stars every 15 hours, but those Stars barely last 30 seconds! That’s not a meaningful amount of free playtime, especially for an app designed for children.
If I’m already paying for a subscription, why am I being charged again just to use the content? A subscription should provide access to the experience, not serve as an entry fee to another paywall.
It’s especially frustrating because children don’t understand subscription models, digital currencies, or why something they were enjoying suddenly stops working. They just know they can’t keep playing.
This app has so much potential, and my son genuinely enjoys it. But the aggressive monetization completely ruins the experience. Developers should not expect parents to pay for a subscription AND continually purchase digital currency just to keep their children entertained.
Either charge a subscription that actually unlocks the content or offer a free app with optional purchases. Charging for both is excessive.
I would love to give this app five stars, but until the developers reconsider this pricing model, I simply can’t recommend it.
