About
Your photo library is full of things you would delete if you could find them: the same picture saved four times, eleven nearly identical shots of one moment, a thousand screenshots you needed for a single afternoon, and a handful of videos quietly taking up more room than everything else combined.
Gigback finds them, shows them to you, and lets you decide.
WHAT IT FINDS
Exact copies. The same file saved more than once. Five things have to agree before Gigback calls two photos copies: a visual fingerprint, the pixel dimensions, the file type, the exact byte count and a checksum of the file itself.
Similar photos and bursts. Shots of the same moment, grouped together with the sharpest one already chosen to keep. This includes burst frames the Photos app hides from you, which are often gigabytes you cannot see any other way.
Screenshots. Everything captured with the side and volume buttons, newest first.
Blurry shots. Photos measured as soft, but only when there is a sharper photo of the same moment to keep instead. Portraits with a deliberately soft background are left alone.
Large videos. Your biggest videos, largest first, with the top of the list measured exactly rather than estimated.
NOTHING GOES WITHOUT YOU
Gigback never deletes anything on its own. You review every photo, you confirm, and then iOS asks you to confirm again. Deleted photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where you have 30 days to put them back.
Favourites, shared albums and anything from the last 24 hours are protected automatically. You can mark any album as never touched. Every cleanup writes a receipt with a thumbnail of each photo that left, so if you change your mind in two weeks you know exactly what to look for.
HONEST NUMBERS
Sizes shown during a scan are estimates and say so, in plain words. The size next to a delete button is measured exactly, file by file, right before you tap it.
Gigback also tells you the thing every other cleaner leaves out: deleting photos does not free your storage straight away. They sit in Recently Deleted for 30 days. The app shows you how to empty that yourself, because no app is allowed to do it for you.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Everything is analysed on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, there are no analytics and there is no server. Gigback works in aeroplane mode.
