About

Gintone is a film camera that lives in your iPhone. Not a filter app. A way of taking pictures. When you shoot, are you looking at the scene, or at the menu? When the focal length and the look can change at any moment, a day of shooting comes back scattered. So does your attention. Gintone moves every choice to before the shutter: when you load a roll, you pick one lens and one film, and they stay for the whole roll. All that's left is the frame. 36 frames. Once you shoot, it counts. No burst mode, no taking ten and keeping one. Every frame uses a real exposure, so every frame gets your full attention. What you see in the viewfinder is what you get. The color is burned in the moment you press the shutter. There is no editing in the app. The calm of a low exposure, the restraint of held-back highlights: you see it while you're framing, and you enjoy it right then. Shoot the roll, seal it, develop it. Only then does the roll open up: every frame carries the place and the time it was taken, you pick the keepers, choose a soundtrack, and cut a 9:16 film of the roll that changes frames on the beat, ready to share. You don't get 36 files. You get one roll. ■ How it works ・Load: pick a lens from the 3D catalog, then a film (15 stocks, each with its own character) ・Shoot: portrait viewfinder, live color preview, frame countdown; tap to focus, EV compensation, AE/AF lock ・Shoot from the Lock Screen: press the Camera Control button and you're framing, no unlock needed; the photo goes straight onto the roll (iOS 18 and later) ・Seal and develop: frame 36 seals the roll; developing fills in the place name of every frame ・The roll: place and time stamps, a soundtrack, frames cut to the bar, one tap to share ・The library: every roll archived by number and date, like "ROLL 014 · 12–18 AUG" ■ Gintone Pro ・9 more film stocks, and every new stock that lands later ・Custom film: mix your own recipe before you load the roll. Curves, hue, saturation, baked into a real LUT ・Darkroom grading after developing: non-destructive color for single frames and the roll film. Originals untouched, reprint any time ・Import your own soundtrack and cut the roll film to your song ・Yearly with a 3-day free trial, monthly, or a one-time lifetime purchase ■ For the particular ・Pro iPhones shoot in Apple Log, restored to Rec.709 before the look is applied: a real cinema color workflow, not an effect pasted on the result. Other iPhones use a 709 pipeline automatically, so every model can shoot ・Every film stock is real color science: an industry-standard .cube LUT ・Metal live preview: the color in the viewfinder is the color of the result ・Five simulated prime lenses: 13mm ultra-wide, 24mm main, 28mm ƒ10 zone-focus pancake, 48mm standard, plus telephoto (by model) ・Full EXIF: GPS, time, ISO, shutter, aperture and lens info, the way a real camera keeps its records ・Rolls stay in Gintone; finished frames are also saved to your Photos library. Your pictures stay yours Gintone's recipe is simple: one lens, one film, 36 frames. Every detail is considered. Give photography back to your eyes.
