What's New in Glassing Maps
1.2.0
October 8, 2026
Directions on the trail! Plan a Route finds the trailhead and the trails to anywhere you pick, and Navigate calls each junction as you walk, even offline in your downloaded maps. Glassing now works in CarPlay. Pick a saved route or pin, or search by keyboard or voice, and drive there turn by turn over forest roads. Your iPhone guides the drive on its own, too. Update your downloaded maps to drive with no signal. Search finds street addresses, and towns are easier to find. Addresses near your downloaded maps work offline. Topo has a night map that follows your iPhone's dark mode, or set it in Settings ▸ Appearance. Apple Watch now shows your next turn and runs your recording, in place of the small map. Draw a Route shows distance, climb, and hiking time as you draw. Private Land now covers 28 states, up from 8. Recordings are safer: tracks save as you go, and deleting one offers Undo. You're a blue dot now, and the end of a walk or drive is a checkered flag. A new Liquid Glass app icon that follows your Home Screen in Dark, Clear, and Tinted. Various map style updates to improve legibility. Bugfix: Topo's hillshade is back on iPhone.
