GlazeLayer Test Matrix is a paid, local-first studio lab for ceramic artists, glaze technicians, pottery instructors, and students who need layer tests to remain tied to formula and firing context. Create a kiln test board with clay body, cone, atmosphere, kiln, notes, and a multi-segment firing schedule. Build glaze recipes from material parts, verify their total, view every material normalized to a 100-part basis, retain swatch and expansion-reference values, and compare a simple expansion-delta fit band. The ordered matrix treats each row as the base and each column as the top glaze, so A over B is never confused with B over A. Every tile stores base and top coat counts, rating, surface, defects including crazing or crawling, and a detailed observation. Review the firing curve, ramp rates, peak temperature, holds, and a transparent hold index. Findings promote Keep and Promising combinations, count recurring defect flags, show matrix coverage, and export ordered layer results as CSV. Save multiple boards, duplicate a complete board as a revision, and keep everything on device. No login is required. The app has no subscription, in-app purchases, ads, analytics, tracking, cloud sync, AI processing, or developer-server upload. Expansion references and visual defect records are organizational aids, not a substitute for material safety data, food-safety testing, or studio firing controls.
