Interesting, but buggy and unsupported

The concept is nice and pretty straightforward and it’s easy to use. But it has issues when being triggered via auv3 parameters with toggles becoming stuck. Unfortunately, the developer doesn’t seem to answer emails so I assume this is abandonware by now.

Super

Brilliant app.

Glitchcore is no longer available in AUM or Loopy Pro

When searching for AUv3 sources, Glitchcore is not in the list. Please fix this if possible as I like the app and it used to work well until fairly recently.

Great plugin

I have a looking for such auv3 plug-in for years. Stable performance, lean and clear interface. Thank you!

My must-have glitching tool. Heavily recommended! 🤖✨

I love Glitchcore because of the grid for step sequencing, chaining patterns, and a few modes of movement. It’s not a mysterious Hologram’s Microcosm algorithm magic under the hood (but if you want one button for shredding your signal, it can be done!), so I can quickly set up a few patterns, check which one I like, and move to the next thing.

For me, it is a chainsaw with a scalpe, perfect for my use. Not to mention a default side button for the AUM interface named GLITCH, which is a simple stutter if you suddenly want to spice things up without stopping jamming.

State saving for sequence?

I‘ve got a zillion ideas what could be added, but there is one thing really needed:

State saving for sequence.

It‘s really sad, that we have to activate it manually or extra map „start sequence, because it‘s state not saved along with our host song file…

Does not show up in any AU host

This may just be a new problem but I spent a couple hours on trying to get this to show up in GarageBand and couldn’t get it to work. Kinda bummed my dudes.

Response from developer

This can happen with any new AUv3 on an iOS device, and is typically fixed by turning the device off and on again. If you are still having trouble I can help you with this via a support email.

Working great now

Was able to resolve earlier problem. Working well, and is a lot of fun.

Crashes any time I try to save the file.

The software is great, and it’s a nice alternative to the GarageBand effects, which are hot garbage. The primary issue is any time I try to export a song as an mp3 file the software crashes and disables itself. I paid 4$ for this. Is there any fix to this?

Very powerhungry

It is a nice app but I can’t integrate it in any of my live sets as auv3 within AUM because ist just eats up 40% of my processing power. I am in an iPad Pro 12.9 from 2017

GarageBand

Isn’t recognised in GarageBand on either iPad or iPhone.

I really need help.

The app won’t let me get in, even after I opened garage band. It just shows the title screen and won’t budge. And I know this is the case because I bought it three times on two devices. It would be nice if you had a tutorial on how to get into the actual app.

Response from developer

The app is an auv3 only effect, it does not have a standalone mode. This is part of the app description. To use it in garage band you must add it as an effect to a track.

Garageband issues

On garageband when I have a track that has this plugin and I merge the track I no longer have the glitch effects after I merge the track. Please fix this issue.

Why cant i open GlitchCore?

It will not open up

Intuitive, lightweight, super fun

Really enjoying the functionality of this plug-in. The price is right, the plug-in is very space efficient (1.6MB as of this review), and I’m already having a ton of fun chopping up piano samples using Retro Piano and Fugue Machine inside of AUM. I found an interview with the developer on YouTube that was a great walkthrough of the main functionality. Keep up the great work!

Very handy indeed

If you are making electronic music and you would like to spice it up with a bit of glitching - then add this to your arsenal. It’s inexpensive and is brilliant at its job... it’s also great fun to play with.. which helps as well.

Could you please add quantization to this?

This app is really cool but no one has a perfect mind time to press always in the right moment any glitch option of this app, and for live performances this is key. I hope you consider to add quantization 🤙🏼

Not what I thought it would be

Not for me thought this was something different but it not what I thought it would be it was only a couple bucks or I’d request a refund

Response from developer

Is there anything I can clarify or help you with, to turn around the negative review?

A new realm of creativity

GlitchCore doesn’t just allow you to glitch up your sounds, it gives you complete creative control over how you do it and opens doors of creativity you never imagined were there. It literally opens up a whole new dimension of sound experimentation.

Instant IDM

Very cool and does way more than I thought. Excellent for 90s style idm a la Aphex Twin, Squarepusher but could still be used to form ambient textures and atmosphere. Well executed and the dev seems driven to keep updating and bug squashing. Well worth the purchase.
