I want this to work for me

I’ve downloaded the free version and I’ll buy once I have more info. But when I create the alarm, it’s just a bright screen and flashlight until the alarm goes off. So, I turn my screen off, and nothing happens at the set alarm time. Isn’t the screen supposed to be black until the set alarm time?

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback. - The wake-up light begins before the alarm time (default 15 mins before). What might have happened is that you set an alarm for just a few minutes in the future, in which case it will already be in the ‘sunrise’ mode. Thanks for raising this, as we’ll make this a little more clear on the sleep screen. - For the light to work, the app needs to be left open overnight. To reduce battery consumption, we do have an optional ‘sleep screen blackout’ feature which will black out the screen while still being on the app. The alarm sound (but not the light) should work even if you accidentally locked your phone. - We would also very much like this to work for you! Please do not hesitate to email us by pressing ‘Send Feedback’ in Glow Alarm settings. We’d be very happy to help with any aspects of the app - and always open to making improvements based on user feedback!

No gradual increase in brightness

I tried it twice - both times it goes at full brightness right away, I didn’t see a gradual increase in the brightness as I expected. Also, a dedicated wake up light machine sells for approximately thirty dollars now. It’s just two years of subscription - developers should probably take it into account.

Very good !!!

Exactly what I was looking for. I’ll be using this every morning as an alternative to the more expensive physical wake up lights. Thanks for making this!

Don’t know how I lived without it!

I’m so glad I found this. Use it every day and love the recent updates! Thank you to developer

Should not have been released

I am surprised that Apple would even allow this app to be released. Being a senior app developer, this app is a great example of a poorly made app and a waste of space on my device.

Response from developer

If there is anything specific you’d like to feedback on, please email us on support@glowalarm.app As with any app, there may be the odd bug that may have impacted your experience. We take reliability concerns seriously, especially for an alarm app. As you will know, specific user feedback is genuinely appreciated in such cases. We rapidly address such feedback where there is a material bug (or simply feature requests). We would be glad to hear from you. I would highlight that we and many users use Glow Alarm on a daily basis; it generally does what it says on the tin in terms of turning your iPhone into a wake up light. We are regularly releasing new features such as sleep sounds and overnight sleep recording and will continue to strive to improve the user experience and feature set.
