Needs a phone app

This tracking application works wonderfully. Simple easy to use. However, the drawback is that it only works on my iPhone and there is no application that would allow me to enter my readings on my iwatch. if there was a Watch app that coordinated between my phone and my watch, this would’ve been a five star rating.

Hello From New Zealand Sockii Team

Well I just had to get in touch again as it has been a couple of weeks or more now since I was corresponding with you in regards to some hiccups I was having with your Diabetic App for the iPad. I thought that I would give things a couple of weeks to see how things were progressing since your repaired the bug or whatever it is that you do to make things right again. So I am here to say that everything is absolutely amazing. My Diabetic App is working beautifully and I could go on for a week telling you how fantastic your App is. I have not had one problem since we were last in touch and I use it several times a day to keep track of my glucose readings as well as insulin that I have to take regularly. It is everything that I could ever ask for in an App for Diabetics and I am so happy that I stuck with you because I just knew you would get it right and I knew that the App had so much potential to make life so much easier for Diabetics. I can almost do it blindfolded now and it is so quick and easy to use. You have no idea what a relief it is to me to have something work so quickly and easily to keep track of all my records. It saves hours of time now and not having to use cumbersome Excel sheets to keep track of everything. This is definitely a winner for sure. So I wanted to say thank you for all the help which you assisted me with recently, and please feel free to use all or any part of my testimony for your advertising or promotional needs. I recommend Sockii very highly and I recommend the Diabetic App to all Diabetics and also nursing care and family members who must care for diabetics and keep track of their important details.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything.

Sincerely,

Patricia Watts in New Zealand

Crashed!

I used to love this app but now it no longer works. I have been using it well over a year and now I cannot get any of my old data off of it. It won't open at all. I went to the doctors office and was not able to give her any of my numbers. I hate that I have to find a new app to start using.

Response from developer

Hi Ymack313, we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing crash issues with the latest update. Please contact us via email (support@sockii.com) and we may be able to help retrieve back the data. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

Mr

The APP is very simple and easy to use; as smattering of fact it is so easy that even old folks like me (70) are able to go with the digital age and show up by the doctor with a beautiful report and data!
Thanks for thinking of us and creating that cool app

Good but ...

Update 17 March: upgraded to 5 star. Developer response to my crash problems was swift and they kept me informed every step of the way. The fix was included with the latest update (2.2.4) so the app now works as expected.

Original review:
This is a nice looking app that is simple and easy to use. I like the fact that everything is shown on a single screen, which has been done very well and it's easy to track progress.

What isn't so good is the constant crashing. If it was only once in a while I would've given it 4 stars, but it's happening consistently after 2 or 3 entries. I should mention here that I have added some additional values to the "time of day" and the crash seems to happen on selecting this field, so it may well be a fault in the code due to my entries (awaiting feedback from the developer on this).

Once this is sorted it will be a 5 star app for sure.

Best!

Simple to use, easy to read, yet very thorough with tracking. I've been a diabetic for 47 years and this is the best system I've ever had to watch everything! At a glance I can see blood sugars, medication dosage, times of day, and trends. I can personalize it in any way that I want to see these things and it's comfortable. Simple and intuitive!! Thank you!!

Not very good at all.

Way to simple of an app to be charging money for. Maybe a dollar since there are no adds.

Pretty good

My favourite log book app, however it needs more options for easier and logical use

An Important App in the Making

As a diabetic for 17 yrs and an app geek I have been searching for the perfect app to record my diabetes data that will sync between all my Apple devices. This is a basic app right now but hopefully they can add more things to beef it up. Just being able to sync my carb intake with my glucose readings on all my Apple products thru iCloud is fantastic. And then to see my data on a graph helps me see where problem areas are.
The needed additions are medication entry such as taking insulin and a nutrition search for foods using a bar code scanner.
Then this would be the only app that I know of to do it all.
This company is also very people friendly. I emailed them and I got a personal reply right away, not a form letter. Good job guys!

What were you thinking?

I like the elimination of the decimal point. It makes it much easier to put in my readings.

But, the font is so faint that I can barely read it.

You may know that in diabetes the eyes are nearly always impacted, making our vision poor. Why would you pick a font that makes it impossible for me to read unless I holds phone ridiculously close to my face?

Total rip-off

Just bought this app because it seemed to have everything I needed to monitor my DM. Once I had the app it had only one page!! The app is nothing like what you see in the App Store. Beware!!

Lacking two vital features

You can tell this app has been created by somebody who doesn't have Diabetes, unlike the Diabetes diary app by Fridayforward which is an excellent bit of software.

This app has:
No carb recording
No useful way to record insulin injection sites

Without these, the app is pretty much useless as gaining worthwhile info without these two bits of info is pretty much impossible.

Meets medical objectives; from a well-establish developer

My physician recently asked me to begin monitoring my blood glucose, recording the values on paper. (Most blood glucose readers also save these values on the meter, to be downloaded at the doctor's office.) Assuming there must be an App for that, I surveyed all the ones available on the iOS and OS X App stores. Only GlucoSweet offers iCloud-synched Apps on both platforms.

I was also drawn to GlucoSweet for two other reasons. First, data collection is organized precisely as my physician asked: before and after meals, and other significant events. Second, I've used another App from the same developer, Capture 365 Journal, since its first version, and have been impressed with its flawless iCloud synching, and general usefulness as a daily photo journal.

Finally, the developer has proven to be extremely responsive. His responses have been useful, and to the point. I have the impression he is answering my specific question, rather than pasting boilerplate.

Off to a Good Start but Fails to Deliver

The display is nice and the app uses some "Apple style" input interfaces that make it relatively easy to get the glucose readings into the database. At a basic level, this app lets you track your progress and will display it on the graph in single-day, one week, two week, etc., chunks. From there however, the app fails to live up to its potential:

- The app does not synch across iTunes as advertised (there is a setting to turn this on and off but nothing seems to actually happen)
- The app does not display averages, only the high and low across the selected range
- The graph width is set and extends beyond the screen edges on both the iPhone and the iPad, requiring you to scroll over to see the data and significantly reducing is usability for tracking trends
- The numerical interface for entering values requires you to add a trailing "0" (past the decimal point) - Otherwise you wind up with "12.5" instead of "125"

Overall, the graphics are nice and the app seems very stable on both iPad and iPhone but it does not offer much in the way of additional functionality. Hoping for much more with an update...

Hmmm

Really simple to use but only trends glucose readings with no means of tracking carbs or insulin dose. So no use in tweaking your insulin to carb ratio.

Not that useful

Could be a brilliant ap - except for the fact the graph is not a graph, just a series of blobs. A line graph would be more useful.
When exporting to an email or just a print out to show the GP, the print out doesn't come out in any logical order so a trend is not possible to see.
This is something that I hope can be sorted in the future, but meanwhile I shall not be using this - no visible trend line is worthless.
