This feature used to be free! Stop exploiting coeliacs!

The gluten switch feature used to be a free feature of the FoodSwitch app. Why is it okay to charge for needing gluten free but not other dietary needs? We don’t choose to need GF anymore than a person who uses the free features to find low sugar, salt fat etc for a medical diet! People who need this feature are not choosing GF for fun!
I am legally blind and this app used to provide an accessible way to stay as safe as possible. Contrary to bigoted stereotypes, many people with low vision and blindness are quite independent with modern technology and do their own grocery shopping. FoodSwitch offered a screen reader accessible option to identify GF foods, because picking up a gluten product is more serious than accidentally buying a less preferred flavour or brand. It saved me numerous times when people put products with similar packaging on the wrong shelf, or when packaging changed to look more similar to the gluten version. Charging for this app is also making it more expensive for me to have basic independence and dignity. Shame on the developers!
It’s enough to have the “gluten tax” on every packaged or prepared food item we buy, give us a break and let people on a GF diet have equitable access to essential dietary support, on a like basis to FoodSwitch app users with other dietary needs! In the very least, charge everyone the same or charge no one. Stop singling coeliacs out and exploiting us please!

I tried to subscribe, app was useless didn’t have most of the products I scanned. So I cancelled subscription, 3 weeks later they take money from my bank acc. I opened my subscriptions up and it shows subscribed for another month with no way to cancel.

I tried to login and it says I don’t have an account

BEWARE… if you subscribe you may not be able to cancel unless you change your bank account number…

Hi Badboybundy, You can cancel you subscription by clicking on the profile button at the top right of the screen and then click on "Manage your Subscription".

Great app!

I have found this app to be a great tool when shopping now that we found out that my child is gluten intolerant. I shop at Coles and found that it will find pretty much every product I scan.
