About
GM Screen is a game-master console for tabletop role-playing games, for any rules system. Initiative, hit points, conditions, dice, scenes and notes live in one place on your iPhone or iPad. On iPhone Duo it stands on the table like a real two-sided GM screen.
RUN COMBAT
• An initiative tracker that sorts by initiative and bonus, counts rounds and shows whose turn it is. The turn stays with the right combatant when you add or remove someone mid-fight.
• Damage, healing and temporary HP. Downed characters keep their turn; defeated monsters are skipped.
• Conditions with durations that tick at the start or end of the affected combatant's turn.
• A party and a bestiary you reuse across encounters. Copies are numbered automatically.
• Keyboard shortcuts on iPad with a keyboard: next turn, previous turn, roll dice.
ROLL DICE
• Standard notation: 2d6+3, 1d20 adv or dis, 4d6kh3, d100 and more, with a roll log.
• Keep a roll secret or share it with the players.
• Record physical dice: tap the faces you rolled, add a modifier, and apply the total as damage, healing, temporary HP or initiative.
PREPARE AND PRESENT
• Campaigns, sessions, encounters and a scene library with your own images and GM notes.
• Reveal a scene to the players when the moment comes.
• Export a campaign as one file, images included, and import it on another device.
SHOW PLAYERS ONLY WHAT THEY SHOULD SEE
• Player Display sends the players' view (scene art, initiative order, health and shared rolls) to another iPhone or iPad at your table running GM Screen, over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
• Hidden combatants, stat blocks, notes, secret conditions and secret rolls never leave your device. Monsters show a health band (Healthy, Bloodied, Critical, Down); player characters show exact HP. Give a creature a public name to keep its identity a surprise.
• On iPad, open the players' view in a separate window.
TABLE MODE (iPad, iPhone Duo, or a large iPhone turned sideways)
• Point the front or back camera at your dice tray to read physical rolls on screen, and freeze a still of the tray. Video is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
ONLY ON IPHONE DUO
• Stand the open iPhone Duo on the table. In Table Mode the outer display faces the players and shows the scene, initiative order, public health and the last shared roll, while the inner display keeps your secrets, stat blocks and turn controls.
• Closing iPhone Duo saves your campaigns at once and pauses the table camera; opening it resumes.
On other iPhones and iPads, players get the same view through Player Display on a second device.
NO SUBSCRIPTION, PRIVATE
GM Screen has no in-app purchases, subscriptions, ads or accounts. It collects no data, and your campaigns stay on your device.
GM Screen is system-agnostic. It comes with an original starter campaign and invented foes, and contains no rules text from published games.
