Does not work with new phones
I upgraded my iPhone from a iPhone 5 to and iPhone 6S and now neither my iPhone or my iPad support the Gsmart Glucometer ... the sensor my glucose strips are useless ... don't buy this unit ...
DO NOT USE this product
Update:
I'm an insulin dependent diabetic. Using the Gmate I began to notice my readings were all over the place and did not match the way I felt. After a few months I decided to purchase another device .... Contour Next. My readings were radically different so I did some research and discovered the FDA makes some allowances but mine seemed to be farther apart. I began a 30 day test taking readings using both meters every morning. You conducted a non-scientific fasting test with the following results:
30 Readings
The Gmate had a 21.7% average difference or 38.9 points
15 of the readings averaged greater than 25%
The readings ranged from -1.1 to 49.7% difference
Original review: The GMate Smart app is a good app needing some improvement. It would be nice to have a specific place to enter medication taken after the reading that would export as a specific and separate field. It would also be beneficial to have an icon to notate a "Fasting" reading.

I am very disappointed in this reader. Since I did the updates it is sooo far off. As much as it is a convenient I have reverted back to the old fashioned way. Don't fix what's not broken.
Don't use this update!
I have used game for well over a year and I LOVED it. Since the update I cannot rely on the readings anymore because they are WAY off. For example: 231 with gmate, 114 with another meter.
Dangerously inaccurate
I was cautiously optimistic when I bought this setup, but have found it to be dangerously inaccurate in reality. I could feel my blood sugar was high or low and was confirmed using a standard monitor. However this brand's setup almost always had me in the "normal" range regardless of what I actually was. It ranged between 100-150 points off of what the other meter said.

Bad update
I've been using the app and meter for over a year and I've had no trouble. After this last update the readings are way off. I even tried new strips and bought a new gsmart meter. Still bad reading. I'm unable to use the device with this updated version.
Don't waste your money -doesn't work!!! 😤
Positive reviews here are decoys. There is zero product support for this wildly inaccurate piece of crap machine. Trust me- I would know. I mistakenly purchased this machine awhile ago and have had constant problems. The control solution test shows my machine is not working properly. Their website has no English translation and so anyone who doesn't speak Chinese is screwed. Also no phone number and they don't answer their Facebook page...

App broken in iOS 10.2.1
I've been using the GmateSMART successfully until the iOS 10.2.1 update on my iPhone 6 (128 GB). Now it asks for the strip and goes into an infinite loop, freezing. I've tried deleting and reinstalling - no help. Tried phoning, and I get put on hold forever. Will there be an update? Do I need to buy a different brand? I do NOT recommend this device until the app is fixed. HELP!!!

Needs Improvement
There is no connectivity to the Health app. It would be useful if it pulled in carbs.
Buggie
The app is very biggie I have had 4 different problems. From the screen going narrow, text block blocking information entry and prompts not showing up. I'm returning this product. Also does not work with Apple health app!
Does NOT support HealthKit
For some reason they removed HealthKit integration, yet all the boxes on the shelves say it does. False advertising at it’s finest.
I suggest avoid buying this device as it has no value at all without the health kit integration it promised. and if you already bought it, I would demand a refund from the manufacturer due to false claims of supporting healthkit.

Has potential needs more feature to be great.
This app has a lot of potential, a clean interface makes it very usable. I'd love to see a more robust logbook that could include medication dosage, carb intake, more options for classification of Glucose readings. An A1c estimator would be great as well. Right now I use this to get my readings and another app "SugarSense" to do everything else. I'd love to be able to do everything in one app. Also when your phone goes into landscape mode when testing it locks the screen and doesn't return to portrait mode. I had to quit entirely and restart the app to ensure that the meter logged correctly.

Convenient device, clunky app, lost HealthKit support
I really find the gMate device useful since I often take my readings when I'm out and about. It's fairly discrete as these things go and it's nice to have my data on the phone when talking to my doctor.
I was able to sync data with the Health app until the last update, and losing that is making it a challenge to correlate blood glucose levels with activity, sleep, and other items I'm tracking. Too bad, that's a real loss

Great concept! Unfortunately inaccurate!
Great concept of having the data on your mobile but the readings are wildly inaccurate!
Lost Health App connectivity
Was really living the GMate system, but it seems that after a recent update (Jan 21st last tracked date) it's no longer sending data to the Health App. This would otherwise be a five star app for me.
Not for iPhone 6 or iPad 2
Beware.
Philosys claims it works on an iPad 2. It doesn’t
Phylosys says the FDA didn’t approve it for iPhone 6. What they don’t tell you is that it doesn’t work on IOS 6. Period.
Caveat Emptor.

Worth a try
Very convenient app to use. Could use a couple of minor tweaks. On the whole, though, much better than carrying a separate meter.
JUNK!
Was very hopeful about this app. Only to find nothing there. There is no support for this app. Click on SUPPORT and a blank page appears. Initiate the app after downloading and the only thing it does is allow you to enter your personal info.
I do not wish to be the negative Nate, but c'mon! Really?!?!
