recent update breaks the app for paying customers

before this recent update i had paid for the full version of the app, but upon opening the app i found out that the payment scheme is now weekly. there’s no restore purchases button. where did that money go? i paid a one-off amount for the full version of the app, am i expected to now pay weekly on top of that? really disappointing, as i really loved this app. it’s been ruined now :(

Sheer nonsense!!!

I already paid for this app. What do you mean making me pay on a subscription basis at this point?! NOT HAPPENING! Better still, buy Fluidium or Magic Fluids- they’re better and a one off buy.

Won’t load

Features don’t work

Overall I give this app a pass and about half of it works well! But the particle (background) doesn’t work, I thought it was just because I had an old iPhone but now I have a new 17 pro and they still do not work. Once I select something other than fluid the background particles go black and appears broken. I still use the app but it just seems limited. As a long time user I miss the Halloween themed bats that flapped their wings and spiders. I hope the app gets better and better! Thank you to the creator!

Bug

Hey, so this game is awesome, but I have a problem every time I open it. It shows the please wait screen, but the particles take forever to load. If this is a bug please fix it! Thank you!

It’s a good game but I don’t know how to work it, I don’t really like how it has SO much partials and once I hold down it disappears.

What happened?

Just 1 year ago the graphics were so smooth, detailed and crystal clear… now it looks like the school project of a 9 year old who found out about unity and made a code with some AI. Please make the changes back to how it was or release old version as another app.. I’m really sad about the loss of quality…

Used to be great, now it’s meh

When I first got the app, it was great, many different effects, customizable background, tons of particle shapes. But now it’s like the whole app has been slashed in half. I wish there was a way to restore older versions of it

Hi! Yeah, I see that the new version hasn't been greeted with a warm welcome. And I still don't understand why, to be honest. I spent quite some time rewriting it, and I thought I'd ticked all the boxes - effects are better looking, customizable, particles look and behave differently now, not just different textures. Polished UI, added translations, etc. You could use images as a background in the previous version as well as enable face tracking, but aside from that, there's nothing Go Particles Classic could offer users that I thought the new version couldn't - and those features were behind a paywall anyway, so only a fraction of all users benefited from them. But it is what it is, maybe I'll upload GPC as a separate app and add a link to it somewhere in the new version. Thanks for the feedback!

Game does not work as of right now, at least on iphone X (updated response)

Coming back after a little while of just not playing, there are still no particles which i understand at this point because i just dont think using the technology this game has on iphone x (or, its really an iphone xs max for specifics) is really possible anymore but when the “fluid” effect released the game is at least somewhat playable on iphone x, just that the fluid itself is pixelated probably because of the graphics optimization but other than that everything works fine when the fluid effect is used. If possible maybe you could add a way to disable graphics optimization and manually set the “graphics level”? Just with a warning that it may cause lag in older phones, dunno if this is possible though

New update

Super disappointed with this new update. I can’t figure out how do to anything, even when following the instructions that tell me what to do. I just see a black screen. Nothing happens.

Edit for dev: I will give that a try and report back. Also, if you would release a Go Particles Classic, that would be awesome.

Hello! I'm sorry to hear that, this is frustrating for both of us but I'm sure I can fix it. Can you tell me the phone (or tablet) model you you using? This would speed up fixing the issue greatly. Previous version was a decade old already, and hardware now is much more capable than back in the days so I decided to rewrite the app from scratch adding "heavy" effects like fluid simulation which would be impossible to add 12 years ago. Not everything went smooth with the rollout as we see but there is nothing that cannot be fixed. Thank you for staying with Go Particles! Upd: Hi there! I don't have this model to try it myself but I tried it on the simulator and it worked and also I see there are lots of other users with the same model who spend time in the app, trigger effects etc. So the only thing I can tell you for now is just to reinstall the app (remove it before reinstalling, if you purchased in-app earlier it will restore). I have released a 4.0.2 version just today with minor fixes that don't target your device directly but still worth giving it a try. I hope it helps!
