Great Points Features

Never get a response back when attempting to get details or feedback regarding membership services. The app is great with the courses, although expensive.

Update: review has been updated with a response and just went directly to someone that messaged me before and she responded but never a response via the official help line. Thankfully their hired contact responded and is assisting me. Appreciate her responsiveness.

Also received some items I won and all are great and shipped relatively quick with minimal shipping fees.

Thanks for the feedback. This one is on us. If you reached out with questions about membership services and never received a response, that’s not the level of support we expect to provide. We’re glad you’re enjoying the app and course features, but we need the service behind them to be just as good. Please reach out to us again and reference this review so we can make sure your questions get answered.

The Real Deal

Downloaded it on whim and at first thought it was gimmick-ey with the points and everything else. I was going to continue to use it regardless as a way to track my score on courses, doing a daily spin I had won the mega jackpot and ordered some clubs and they are absolutely the real deal. Clubs came in, I absolutely love them and look forward to seeing what more they have in store. I now recommend this app to anyone that loves golfing!

GolfN app

Great app, good way to get golf equipment at a discounted rate if you play lots and you buy a membership. if you don’t want to spend any extra money, the app itself is free and a great way to keep track of your stats.

Cool…but could be Elite!

When I read the MyGolfSpy article on GolfN, I was intrigued enough to download and give it try. Honestly, gamification of something I already do all the time is a no-brainer, and the concept is incredible. However, there are a few things I think could truly improve this and turn it into a MUST have App for avid Golfers.

First, I don’t think there’s any chance someone really wins the Spin thing. That feels beyond impossible, and if someone IS winning something other than the usual squares, they need to market that, publicize it. Not to mention if I have a Silver Membership, I should only be able to Spin for a membership above my tier. More collectibles, more points prizes etc would make that more fun.

Second, I’m not getting points nearly as quickly as the MyGolFSpy writer mentioned. More transparency around point totals, more points boost activities, rounds, etc would improve it as well.

Lastly, entries should be awarded for achieving certain goals. Play 3x a week, earn 300 bonus entries etc. If we’re gonna gamify, let’s really gamify!

Going to use through seasons end and reevaluate. Not sure I’m willing to step up my subscription if it doesn’t seem like I’ll ever accumulate that many points.

Best golf app there is

GolfN has quickly become one of those apps that feels like a no-brainer if you’re a golfer. It’s genuinely useful on the course, easy to incorporate into a round, and the rewards aspect makes using it even better. I’ve only had it for a short time, but it’s already added value to my rounds and has been surprisingly rewarding along the way.

My only real nitpick is checking distances to hazards and bunkers. The cursor can be a little difficult to position and isn’t quite as intuitive as I’d like. I’d love to see a quicker, easier way to get those distances at a glance.

That said, it’s a minor complaint compared to everything GolfN gets right. If you play golf regularly, there’s really no reason not to have this app. Highly recommend it.

The things they offer aren’t worth a dang

The points are very very inconsistent that you get whenever you play. One week I’ll get 259 points next week I’ll be like 1700 points the daily game they offer you don’t ever win anything and if you do win something there hidden things in it. Like win 10% off a silver membership. You gotta click it that way you can use it on the silver membership you already use and it says it’s only good for your first month. I’m already subscribed to it so obviously it wouldn’t be my first month so it’s a complete waste of anything. And then you can win game passes, but you can never use them because nothings easy to find to use them ever. It’s a money grab app that’s all it is.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. A few clarifications are important here. GolfN publishes the terms and conditions for rewards, including restrictions like first-month-only membership offers, before redemption. Those aren’t “hidden things.” They’re part of the offer and available to review before you use your points. Points earned through Daily Rewards can vary because rewards and promotions change over time. That does not mean the system is inconsistent or manipulated. We also publish the applicable odds and hit rates for chance-based rewards. GolfN has awarded members over $700,000 of merchandise, memberships, experiences and other rewards, so the claim that “no one ever wins” simply isn’t accurate. We encourage members to review the published reward details, terms and odds so they understand exactly what each offer includes.

It’s Alright

It’s a nice app for free but it’s not something I would ever pay for. It will take forever to earn enough points to get anything unless you pay. The store doesn’t have anything I am interested in anyways. The app closed out a few times randomly so I lost points due to that. I gave up on the app and only use it when I get a free membership from my friend. This app also has 4 holes on the course I play that are incorrectly listed. I wish I could submit this while playing. There is a process to get this corrected per the web but I can’t figure it out. Overall, I will keep paying for another popular app that tracks my rounds, has all the bells and whistles you could want or need, and is not outrageous in price!

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. We do have to push back on calling GolfN “outrageous in price.” The GPS, scoring, analytics and other core golf features are free. Memberships are optional and designed for golfers who want to accelerate their rewards. You mentioned paying for another golf app that tracks your rounds. Does that app give you any of that subscription money back in golf gear? GolfN does. Members earn points that can be redeemed toward real products from brands like Miura, Cobra, Srixon, Cleveland, L.A.B. Golf and Bettinardi. GolfN members have already redeemed more than $671,000 in rewards. We absolutely want to improve stability, course data and Pro Shop selection. But calling an optional rewards membership “outrageously priced” while paying another app simply to track your golf misses a pretty important difference between the two products.

Great Golf app with free bonuses

Very helpful and useful for keeping track of distances and shots, as well as having some free bonuses that you can play for and win.

A Good Habit

Half the fun of playing a round, is the ability to understand how you are performing and reaching your goals for that particular day. And the app encourages you to take pictures of your experience and document for others to take advantage of your experience. Very habit-forming and I wouldn’t play a round without opening up GolfN. Not to mention at the end of the day or whenever, you can pick and choose the reward of your choice using your points.

Pretty basic app

I do like the layout of the app and the features, not a fan of a few things. Like the daily spin for instance I’m pretty sure is rigged for people who pay monthly memberships only as I’ve had a few times where I should have landed on a sweet putter or a signed Tiger woods memorabilia and it’s sketches out and gives me the weakest win. I do like the live handicap per hole. I don’t like the fact I cannot use my points pass’s I have 12-13 and I cannot seem to use them. They are valued at $2 each and I have so many but can’t seem to use them. I’m guessing this must be for “Members only” as I can’t use them. They do have cool draws to be won using tickets but again I’m pretty sure it’s rigged so a non member can’t win. Overall the app isn’t the best it works best for just tracking distances and yardage in my opinion.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. To clarify, Daily Rewards are not “rigged” based on whether someone pays for a membership. We publish the applicable odds and hit rates so members can see how rewards are distributed rather than having to guess based on their individual results. Points Passes also have specific uses within GolfN, and we’re working to make their functionality and eligibility clearer in the app. We appreciate the feedback there. We’re glad you like the app’s layout, features and distance tracking. We also have significantly more than basic GPS and yardages available today, with additional features, rewards and experiences continuing to roll out.

It’s Legit

I’ve used GOLFN for about a year now and love it. The rewards are all legitimate. I started with a standard Silver membership and decided to upgrade to a Gold membership to earn more points per round. I’ve redeemed points for a lot of golf clubs and equipment over the year and have won a few things on the daily spin. I highly recommend the app if you are already playing golf throughout the year.

Dislike: New 10% off Membership in the free spin

I have been using GolfN for quite some time now and I love it. The new 10% off membership coupon in the free spin wheel really defeats the purpose of “free spin” because this is just a money grab to get more memberships. I am a Silver Member myself and put the $450 down for the whole year… I can tell you that 10% off monthly for the gold membership isn’t going to make much of a difference it’s still pricey. So I lose one of my free spins to that prize that I’m not even going to use. I’ve been spinning for about 4 months now daily with a few exceptions and haven’t won anything good yet but hopefully soon. Please take this comment into consideration.

Great app

Honestly, Great especially if you’re just playing golf in the first place. Why not earn something extra to redeem in the future? App is still in its emerging stage it seems but for the few months I’ve had the app, it’s improved significantly and the customer service staff will get back to you in a timely manner if you have any questions. Going to continue using it!

Awesome App

Great App! I wish it was compatible with Apple Watch to get distances and score instead of having of having to open the app everytime on my phone. I have seen reviews saying it can be done but I haven’t found a way to get it to work!
Aside from that this app is fantastic! Sure it takes a while to gain points, but none of the other apps do that and if I’m playing golf anyways, why not add another perk to the game.

Great app for golf activity

Real useful app. I recommended a couple locations and fairly quick they appeared on the map. A lot of cool features. Free spin always manages to find that last bit of momentum to land on tickets which is no surprise. Haven’t a
Had much opportunity to earn points but overall decent golf companion app and the only one with some kind of rewards system for using it.

Daily spin

Just a warning to everyone, the daily spin is the most bs thing ever i literally 30 seconds ago had it slow down to the speed that it stops at, and it kept going until it got to the 40 tickets option. I’ve had it where it has almost stopped on memorabilia or a club multiple times but as soon as it should it’ll go to the tickets or point pass. Honestly one of the biggest scams ever. And the cheapest membership is like $15. I’m switching to 18 birdies, they’ll give me less cortisol spikes than this bs. And you have to play at least 10-15 rounds of golf a week for multiple weeks if you wanna get enough points to order a club.

Great golfing app!!

Love this app. Lots of cool features and the ability to earn rewards which can be exchanged for golf gear!

Great app!!!!!

Love this app for tracking rounds and also earning tokens along the way. The constant improvements are extremely impressive and the prizes that you can redeem and win on Press your luck are awesome! Can’t wait to see what comes next! Hats off to the team behind GolfN!

Golf app with rewards

Great golf app that rewards playing the game we all love (and hate). Starting to build enough points now to get something really cool from the pro shop, which for little effort or cost to me is real value for money. Well worth a download!
