Very few books in the Catalogue

I tried to add some of my favorite books to the catalogue (even by searching by ISBN) and they just aren’t in there. As well, it only seems to allow searching by title. Does not produce correct results when searching by author. I don’t see the point of this app, doesn’t seem to have any personalisation, nor does it even let you catalogue the books you’ve read completely.
