About

GoodCents turns a classroom into a working economy. Students earn a paycheck for showing up, pay income tax and seat rent, shop at a store their teacher stocks, save at interest, borrow, build a credit score, and invest at real market prices. Every lesson arrives as something that happened to them, on their own money. Financial literacy is usually taught as vocabulary. This teaches it as consequences — small, safe, weekly, and personal. WHAT STUDENTS DO • Get paid. Attendance becomes salary every payday, and the paystub shows every line on the way to the wallet: gross, tax, rent, net. • Spend. A store the teacher stocks — snacks, privileges, homework passes. Buying issues a QR ticket that staff scan to hand the item over. • Save. A savings account that compounds every payday, including the fractions banking up toward the next whole coin. • Borrow. A school bank with a rate set by the student's own credit score, and peer-to-peer loans classmates negotiate themselves. • Invest. Real prices for a curated set of well-known companies, plus gold and Bitcoin. Every purchase requires one written sentence on why. • Read the research. Charts, moving averages, RSI, a 52-week range, and a short daily note laying out the case for and against each asset with cited headlines. Never a recommendation. WHAT TEACHERS DO • Award money in seconds — pick students, tap a rule, confirm. • Import attendance straight from the district's weekly report. • Run payroll, or let it run itself on the day and time you choose. • Work the store desk, scanning tickets or tapping them from a live queue. • Set everything: what pays and how much, the tax brackets, seat rent, the store, the fines, the currency's own name. • Hand out classroom jobs — a trusted student can run the store desk. NO REAL MONEY The currency is classroom points with no cash value. Nothing in the app can be bought, and there is no advertising, no tracking, and no student data sold — ever. REQUIRES A SCHOOL GoodCents only works inside a school that has been set up on it. Students and staff sign in with their school Google account, or a one-time code from their teacher.
