About

The Markdown you write is the page you print. Type, and your document builds itself on a real sheet of paper in real time, so you see exactly where every page breaks before you export. Most Markdown editors are great for writing but leave you guessing how the finished document will actually look. GoodMarkdowns makes the preview the result. ■ Live page preview As you type, each line settles into place on a real page. Page breaks, margins and line wraps match the exported PDF exactly. Read one page at a time, open a two-page spread, or zoom out to a grid of every page, and pinch to zoom freely. ■ Edit right on the page Tap a heading, paragraph, list item or table cell in the preview and change it in place. The Markdown source and the page move together in both directions, so you can write in plain syntax and still polish the layout on the page itself. ■ Eight design templates Pick the look that fits the job and switch at any time. • Report — a clean, professional layout for work and project documents • Academic — classic typography for papers and essays • Minimal — nothing on the page but your writing • Technical — numbered sections and a structured grid • Manuscript — generous line spacing for drafts and submissions • Gazette — dense, newspaper-style columns • Business — a composed look for proposals and plans • Book — body text set the way a printed book is ■ Start from a document template On iPad, you never have to face an empty page. Choose one of eleven ready-made documents — Meeting Notes, Weekly Report, Resume, Blog Post, Newsletter, Study Notes, Academic Paper, Product Spec (PRD), README, Changelog and Decision Record (ADR) — and fill in the content. ■ Six paper sizes and landscape Choose A3, A4, A5, A6, Letter or Legal, and turn any page landscape. Set your own headers, footers, page numbers and margins to match a submission format or a print job. ■ Block-level styling Adjust one paragraph or one heading without touching the rest of the document. The inspector changes typeface, alignment and spacing block by block. ■ Built-in image editor No jumping to another app. Twelve tools including crop, highlighter and mosaic, ten annotations such as arrows and spotlights, and eight-handle resizing with rotation, right there on the page. ■ Export to PDF, PNG, JPEG and HEIC Export a vector PDF with crisp text you can select and copy. When you need an image instead, save PNG, JPEG or HEIC at 1x, 2x or 3x resolution. Long documents show progress and can be canceled at any point. ■ Standard Markdown Headings, bold and italics, lists, tables with column alignment, block quotes and code blocks with syntax highlighting. Open a .md or plain text file you already have and the formatting comes through intact, so it doubles as a comfortable Markdown viewer and reader. Document settings live in front matter and are still there next time. ■ A document library on iPad Organize your writing in folders: create, rename, move and delete documents and folders in one place. On iPhone, documents open and save through the Files app. ■ iCloud sync with Pro With Pro, the iPad library lives in your own iCloud Drive folder, so the same documents are waiting on your other devices. Without it, documents stay on the device, and you can still keep them in iCloud Drive through the Files app. Who it's for • Students and researchers handing in papers and assignments as clean PDFs • Professionals writing reports, meeting notes and proposals • Developers keeping READMEs, technical docs and changelogs in Markdown • Anyone who wants a resume or CV exported at print quality • Anyone who would rather write in Markdown than wrestle with a heavyweight editor GoodMarkdowns is free and supported by ads; an optional rewarded ad turns them off for a while and unlocks Pro features such as iCloud sync. No account to create. Writing, preview and export work with no connection at all, and your documents stay on your device and in your own iCloud.
