Moral of the story: don’t use Google Classroom, or you want be able to walk for a year.

The most important thing is useless

I need classroom for school of course and I need the notifications to keep me on track of my work and assignments but the notifications do nothing. I get a notification that says you have a new assignment so I tap on it and it just takes me to all the classes. It doesn’t take me to the new assignment which is useless. What’s the point of telling me I have an assignment but you don’t tell me what it is and you don’t take me too it? Either way, I still have to have the app for school. The notifications used to say what the assignment was but then it changed. It was much more useful when it actually told me what it was. If you’re gonna change the notifications just make it so they at least take me to the assignment or private comment or announcement. Like you say I have a new assignment, that’s great, what’s the assignment? And you keep changing it. You have it so the notifications are helpful and say the assignment then you change it and now it just says I have an assignment. Like are there people telling you to have it so it doesn’t say the assignment? As far as I’ve seen, people definitely agree with me and I don’t now why you keep going back and forth.
Other than that…it’s ok. Everything else works fine but for me the notifications are the most important and that’s what you’re failing at. Please change it.

Why Google Classroom Sucks

Google Classroom is honestly one of the worst things ever invented. I would rather do literally anything else than open Google Classroom. Every time I see that little Classroom icon, I already know my day is about to get worse.

First of all, it is SO BUGGY. I click on an assignment and it takes forever to load. Then I click it again because I think it didn’t work, and suddenly it opens five times. Sometimes I turn something in and Google Classroom acts like I never did it. BRO, I JUST TURNED IT IN! How am I supposed to prove I did my homework if the app doesn’t even know what is happening?

And there is ALWAYS homework. You open the app and BOOM, 17 missing assignments. Like bro, I just got home. Can I breathe for five seconds? Teachers act like we have nothing else to do except stare at Google Classroom all day. I swear they think homework is a hobby.

And don’t even get me started on teachers. Some teachers give you one assignment and then randomly add five more at 10:47 PM. WHY?! I hate school sometimes because it feels like school follows you home. I already spent all day there! Let me go play games or something.

Another thing that sucks is when an assignment says “Due at 11:59 PM.” That means I’m going to remember it at 11:58 PM and start panicking. Then Google Classroom decides to load slower than a potato. Now I’m sitting there staring at my screen while the spinning loading circle has basically become my best friend.

School would honestly be way better if teachers gave less homework and Google Classroom stopped being so buggy. Unfortunately, that will probably never happen because teachers apparently LOVE assigning stuff.

In conclusion, Google Classroom sucks, homework sucks, the app is buggy, and sometimes school and teachers suck too. I just want to go home, eat some food, play games, and NOT have 47 assignments waiting for me. Thank you for listening to my very important essay.

Teacher’s opinion

As a teacher using GC, I find it helpful to upload and disburse information to students but it’s slow and clunky. It needs to be more streamlined and customizable but you get what you pay for. I’ll keep using it only because I can upload pdf documents that students can access when they miss class or lose the paper handout I gave them.
