Couldn’t even try it out!
I spent so much time making pages and when i tried to go in to test it, I got a message that i need to buy it if it has more than 5pages. So I can’t even use it! How about stopping us at 5 pages? Rather than making us waste all this time creating pages and then locking us out! So frustrating! Thanks to this experience, I discovered another amazing AAC app that allows messaging too!

Speech therapist approves
This free version of GoTalkNow is a great way to dip your toes into AAC. I highly recommend this to parents of non speaking children to help them get started communicating with AAC. Because this is the free version you can only make a limited amount of pages but that should not be a problem for beginners! Definitely give it a try! And then if it’s working well you can upgrade to the paid version or try other apps! Adding images and text is super easy in this app with the internet search feature! I’m surprised this app doesn’t have more hype!

New update. Has stopped the sounds
After doing the latest apple update, the go talk now lite did a update and when buttons are pressed the app does not talk
Ike it used to. My son uses this to communicate and he now cannot. To clarify the buttons no longer say what the buttons are. Ergo food button does not say anything.

I have the Go Talk Plus on my sons school iPad and iOS 16.1 has broken the app. Please fix!! Sound and jumping pages doesn’t work.

So far this is working great. I’ve started with 1 page with 4 buttons. I put 4 tasks that my son likes and when he gets a better hang of it I’ll add more.
Crash and Freeze
The concept is awesome. However, the app crashes on me at random points and the after action for three of my four subjects won't jump.
I have requested help through the app and got an automated response saying they received my request and would get back to me within one business day but two days later no response. That is disappointing.
I got this to try it with the mind to purchase but if this is how the apps are taken care of I think I'll save my money.
I keep holding out hope though..... his therapists app works fine!

The free version is a great starting point for our autistic little fella. The outlay for communication aids is a barrier to many parents especially if you are not sure of success. You guys are legends for letting us try it for free. If it works I will happily pay for the better versions!

This is an ineffective AAC app. The organization is messy, there is no emphasis on core vocabulary, and you must establish everything from scratch.
I am thoroughly disappointed in this app. I would never recommend it.

Impressively an app update which caused this to not launch was fixed in 3 days.
While a bit clunky to operate, it's pretty amazing to watch my son interact with this. He gets it and it works seamlessly with the version he uses at the speech therapist.

This app is great to help turn your iPad into a communication device for children with special needs. You can add your own sound, pics, text etc to the grid selection so it can really help with day to day functions without frustration.

The free version had no tutorial nor Help button, and I couldn't get it to work.
