What's New in GPS City Guide
1.5
September 5, 2026
Audio no longer starts on its own. When you reach a stop, a card lets you know you are close and you tap to play. When a story ends, the card offers the next stop on the route with its distance. Prefer the old behavior? Turn on Auto-play on arrival in Settings. See every stop before you get there. Each stop on the Now Playing card now shows a photo of the place, so you can spot the building, the corner, or the monument from across the street and know you are in the right spot. Find your cities faster. The Cities screen now keeps your recent cities at the top and lets you mark favorites with one tap. Your favorites and recents stay on your device and are ready the next time you open the app. Browse the world by country. Cities are now grouped by country with a quick-jump index, so you can skim to Italy or Japan instead of scrolling one long list. Scroll position is remembered when you come back. Fix location in one tap. If location access was turned off, a banner now explains what to do and takes you straight to the right Settings page. As soon as location is back on, the banner clears and your stops start playing automatically again. Also in this update: general bug fixes and performance improvements. Every city still includes the first three stops free, so you can try a tour before you unlock it.
