About

No references to other platforms (Android, Google Play): App Review rejected 1.0.0 under Guideline 2.3.10 for an Android mention. GPSense shows everything your iPhone knows about its position, clearly, on one screen. Check the quality of your GPS fix before you rely on it on a hike, at sea or in the field. STATUS • Fix status (3D / 2D / no fix) with the reason when there is no fix • Horizontal accuracy and an estimated source: GNSS, Wi‑Fi or cell • Coordinates in decimal degrees, degrees‑minutes‑seconds, degrees‑decimal‑minutes, UTM and MGRS. Tap to copy, or share. • Altitude above sea level with ± accuracy, plus ellipsoidal altitude • Speed with session maximum, course with cardinal direction • GPS time in UTC, age of fix and update rate • Barometric pressure, vertical speed and a barometric altitude you can calibrate (on iPhones with a barometer) • Tap any value to see it full screen in huge digits WORLD • Borders‑only world map with the live day/night terminator and the sun's position • Your time zone highlighted, local and UTC clocks, today's sunrise and sunset COMPASS • Rotating dial with true or magnetic north, heading accuracy and a calibration hint • Course arrow when you are moving, and a pointer to your saved waypoint TRACKS • Record tracks, also with the phone locked or another app open: distance, moving time, average and max speed, ascent and descent • Pause, resume or stop from the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island • Elevation profile for every recorded track • Export any track as GPX and open it in your favourite mapping app WAYPOINTS • Save your position or type coordinates, then see distance and bearing on Status and the compass COORDINATE CONVERTER • Paste or type a position in any of the five formats and get it in all of them, ready to copy or share, no fix needed SIRI AND SHORTCUTS • Ask for your position, save a waypoint, or start and stop a recording, from Siri, the Shortcuts app or the Action button PREDICTED SKY • Where GPS satellites should be above you, from the nominal constellation. Clearly labelled as predicted: iOS gives apps no live satellite data. WIDGETS • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets with your last position; the larger size adds accuracy, altitude, speed and a record button • A Lock Screen widget that shows the one value you choose: coordinates, altitude, speed, accuracy or distance to your waypoint • A Live Activity with your position, and one with distance and time while a track records APPLE WATCH • Fix, accuracy, coordinates, speed, altitude and pressure on your wrist, also without your iPhone • Record tracks on the watch, with your wrist down; they arrive in the iPhone's Tracks • Complications with the watch's last position, distance and direction to your waypoint, or the one value you choose • Coordinate format, units and pages set on the watch or on the iPhone SETTINGS • Metric, imperial or nautical units • Keep screen awake, light/dark appearance PRIVATE BY DESIGN No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no servers of our own. Your location is never sent to us; it goes to your own iCloud only if you turn that on. HONEST ABOUT THE PLATFORM iOS does not give apps satellite counts, signal strengths or raw GNSS data. GPSense shows only what iOS really provides and never invents satellite numbers. The About screen explains what is measured and what is inferred.

• Waypoints on the Apple Watch: save, name and choose one on the wrist, also without the iPhone; waypoints stay in step on both devices. • Compass on the Apple Watch, with the arrow towards your chosen waypoint. • Waypoints keep their accuracy, altitude, the device they were saved on and a note; name them as you save. • Export waypoints as GPX, or import them from a GPX file. • Tracks: rename from the list, share several as GPX files at once, and see each track's outline, start, end and extent, with a shortcut into Apple Maps. • Smoother elevation while recording: the barometer tracks height changes, GPS sets the starting height. • Compass colours: classic, accent, night red or high contrast. • Up to five waypoints on the compass at once, each with its own colour and shape. • Keep in iCloud: settings, waypoints and tracks in your own iCloud — each on its own switch — so they follow you to a new iPhone and your other devices (optional, off by default). • CarPlay: an "In the car" widget with altitude, direction and position, and live speed with your waypoint compass on the car's screen while you drive. • Choose and order the Status cards; barometric altitude, vertical speed and pressure can be card
