Can no longer read on mobile devices

Last five issues have not been optimised for Mobile Devices. Makes this App totally pointless. Get the US App version, which actually does work and has morphed into the same content anyway…

Digital subscription doesn’t work across different platforms

I bought the subscription on my google pixel while out and about (android google play store) assuming I could login later on my iPad Pro. I can’t! And despite emailing ‘support’ and getting non-sensical responses I still can’t use my digital subscription (using the name email address and profile) on my iPad.

I would not have purchased through the google play store had I know it was not transferable to another digital device on another platform. Although, that is surprising and definitely disappointing.

I will not be renewing my subscription!

Not usable offline

Have been using this app for more than a decade and love British GQ. Unfortunately since the latest app version, all previously downloaded issues disappear making it virtually impossible to use in offline mode and to keep favorites. You have re download previous mag issues every single time you open the app.

So confusing

Literally just signed up to GQ, but been an avid reader for years. Pricing is baffling, £1 sign up for three copies and instant access, or 30 days free and £22 per year, or £2.29 a month, or £19 every 6 months? Can’t seem to access anything on the app despite restoring all purchases.

Terrible app design and commercial offer OR brilliant incentive to retain hardcopy custom? You decide…

It took weeks to gain access to my subscription

As the title says. The app itself is rather unstable, certain menus which should appear do not at first attempts. Then navigating through the convoluted myriad of different websites that require subscribing to in order to generate a temporary username to use on this app. It was like going back to 1997 on dial up on a windows 3.1 pc.

Technical issues.

Better than it was, at least you can see a double page spread in landscape now - but - I can’t get rid of the GQ header strip at the top of my iPad Pro so you can never see a full page which is really annoying. A while back the App used to function flawlessly, it’s been on a bumpy road for a while now! Any help greatly welcomed.

Doesn’t work

You’d have thought a major publisher would find this simple?

I have a subscription, but I cannot access it. Customer services are clueless and keep sending the same (unclear) instructions. I’ve been trying for days to get this fixed.

This app is non functional and Condé Nast should be ashamed of their systems and service.

Terrible Magazine, Terrible App

Can’t believe how bad this magazine has become in recent years.

Can’t down the subscription

I have subscribed yearly through Apple Store. Could not open the magazine or neither download it. It keeps asking to pay for monthly issues even I already paid for 1 year subscription through Apple. After several times contacting Apple and Condé Nast développer, they keep ping-ponging each other, the problem is always from the other side… Meanwhile I don’t have access to what I paid for… and they don’t refund my payment even I canceled my subscription …

App asks me to pay even though my subscription is active

I renewed my subscription thru Apple a few months ago. It had been working fine but for the current (April/May 2023) issue, instead of allowing me to download as usual for free as part of my annual subscription, it wants me pay $3.99 to purchase it.
I contacted Apple Support and we tried different things but that did not resolve the issue. I emailed GQ a couple of days ago and they did not reply.
Apple can’t offer me a partial refund. This is very frustrating as I basically lost half a year of my subscription that I paid for. I’m not going to subscribe from them again!!

Gone downhill and stayed there!

This was a great magazine optimised for iPad. Now it is just a PDF of the print copy. Having to constantly pinch and expand to read every article is a poor experience, made worse when images straddle two pages in print but are split on iPad.

I let my subscription go when the app was downgraded and tried it again today hoping that the publisher had rethought its approach. Sadly there has been no improvement so I won’t be renewing my subscription.

Gone downhill

So annoying that the formatting has changed. Totally awkward to read magazine on phone now. Up until a few months ago was perfectly optimised but laziness has crept in. Please revert back to previous system. This is shoddy

Don’t bother subscribing

Despite eventually managing to log in and being a paid-up subscriber, the app still wants me to pay to access any issue. Conde Nast have neither explanation, resolution nor apology for this utterly useless app. Will be getting a refund on my subscription

Why change the contents?

Previously pulling up the “hamburger” menu in the top right gave you a list of all the article and features, now it just shows you a list off page numbers which is completely useless. Why change good functionality to useless functionality? It’s bad enough that the contents page in the magazine isn’t hyperlinked, but now the digital magazine is just un-navigable.

What’s happened?

As others have said the two latest issues have been unreadable on either iPad or iPhone. They’ve gone from specific mobile formatting as magazines to nothing more than a pdf of the magazine. What’s the point in having digital editions if all you’re going to do is take photos of each individual page then upload?

Utterly unreadable in the current format. Free daily newspapers have worked out how to get the most from the format, yet a premium publisher such as Condé Nast not only don’t make the most of the the format but regress.

Terrible.

Pathetic

Of all the apps I have ever used (EVER) this is the worse It really deserves no stars, will not allow me to log in again and from the other reviews I’m not alone. Now, will any one read this and follow up with me, answer not in a million years.
