How does Grain work?
You select one or up to 50 photos, and Grain saves a new copy of each with applied texture styles. These copies can then be accessed and edited in the Photos app under 'Recently Saved' by tapping Edit, then Styles.
Can I edit multiple photos at once with Grain?
Yes, Grain is built for batches and can process up to 50 photos simultaneously. The app provides progress updates for each photo and continues processing in the background, even if you leave the app.
Does Grain change my original photos?
No, Grain is designed to preserve your original photos. It always saves a new copy of each image with the applied textures, ensuring your originals remain untouched.
What devices and iOS versions does Grain support?
Grain requires iOS 27 or later and is designed for iPhone. It specifically works with HEIC photos that include Photographic Styles data, which are saved by recent iPhone models. It has been tested with the iPhone 17 Pro.
Is Grain private and secure?
