About

Grandpa's Atlas is a wordless treasure-hunting puzzle for iPhone and iPad. A young explorer inherits her grandfather's atlas and sets out to fill its pages: seven expeditions, twelve digs each, one swinging hook and a limited reserve of strength. Read the scene, wait for the right angle, fire the hook, haul up what the order asks for — and paste every find into the book. Seven Expeditions Follow the atlas from the glacier to the seabed, down into the mine, across the desert, up the volcano, through the jungle and finally back home. Each expedition opens with a departure poster, hands you twelve hand-built digs, and closes with a postcard from the camp. Eighty-four levels in all. The Hook Only Flies Straight A winch stands at the edge of every dig and the hook swings back and forth below it. Tap to let it fly: it travels in a straight line and grabs the first thing it touches. Anything in the way comes up first, so you learn to wait for the angle, clear the path, and then go for the treasure. Strength Is the Budget Cranking the rope back costs strength, and heavier loads cost more. The gauge at the top of the screen is all you get for the dig — pots, rings and fossils are light, boulders and ice blocks are heavy. Finish the order before the gauge runs dry. Orders, Not Scores Every dig asks for specific artifacts, shown as empty outlines at the top. Haul one up and it flies into its outline and lights up. Fill the order and the dig is done; the finds appear on a celebration card and are pasted into the atlas. Dynamite and Vines Two expeditions change the rules. In the mine, hooking a dynamite barrel sets it off and clears every obstacle in its blast. In the jungle, vines tangle around artifacts and make them far heavier until you pull the vine away first. Star Gems and Grandpa's Cabinet Each expedition hides a star gem in some of its digs. Bring one home and it glows in the atlas and takes its place in Grandpa's cabinet of seven niches. Fill all seven to unlock the cabinet drawer and the final page of the story. The Atlas Is the Map The book itself is the main screen: the left page collects the expedition's artifacts, the right page shows twelve wax seals — red for finished digs, a glowing compass seal for the one you're on. Flip through the expeditions, tap a seal to dig, and watch each camp's poster change behind the book.
