About
Your apps unlock when you write down what you're grateful for.
Gratitude Scroll is the app blocker built on a single, stubborn idea: before you sink into the scroll, take a moment to notice the good. It's not another timer you swipe past. To open Instagram, TikTok, YouTube — whatever's stealing your hours — you have to write three things you're grateful for first.
No honor-system buttons. No "just 5 more minutes." Three grateful lines are the key.
— HOW IT WORKS —
• Choose the apps you want to lock (you pick — we never see which ones)
• When you reach for a locked app, Gratitude Scroll asks you to write what you're grateful for
• Write three things down — stuck on a line? Tap Ideas for a gentle prompt
• Your apps open for a few minutes, then quietly re-lock
— WHY IT WORKS —
Doomscrolling is automatic. Gratitude is deliberate. Studies show writing something down does far more than just thinking it. By putting three small, written moments of thanks between you and the feed, you break the reflex — and slowly rewire the habit. Most days you'll catch yourself, smile, and put the phone down.
— FEATURES —
• Write-to-unlock: put three gratitudes on the page to get in (on-device, private)
• Lock any apps with Apple Screen Time — fully under your control
• Prompts for when you're stuck — a rotating bank of gentle places to look
• A growing journal of everything you've written, in your own words
• Stats that reveal your streak, your recurring themes, and how your mood tracks over time
• Look back on what you wrote a week, a month, or a year ago
• Streaks that celebrate consistency and never punish a missed day
• Warm, calm, distraction-free design
— YOUR PRIVACY —
Everything you write is stored privately on your device. Your gratitude entries are never uploaded, never transcribed by us, and never leave your phone. The apps you choose to block are stored privately on-device too — we can't see them.
Stop scrolling on autopilot. Start noticing the good.
Gratitude Scroll requires Screen Time (Family Controls) permission to lock and unlock the apps you choose.
