Woefully underwhelming
1. It’s NOT a dictionary.
There are zero definitions of words included this app. If you enter a word, it will give you the equivalent word in Greek, but it does not explain what the word is, using other words, or offer any other information beyond that word, for example, the part of speech, or synonyms and antonyms.
2. Inaccuracies
My very first time using the app, I entered “microphone”. It offered me the correct word in Greek, and tapping the audio symbol gave me the correct pronunciation, but the pronunciation guide below it said it was pronounced ‘my-kruh-foh-noh’ which is absolutely wrong and very bad greeklish. People will read that and learn to say it the wrong way.
2. The price.
I will not pay 12.99 a month, and I certainly won’t pay $59.99 for a lifetime, for a dictionary that isn’t a dictionary, with inaccurate information to boot.
Ever.
3. If you are planning on using the free version, forget it. After typing in the word and pressing the pronunciation, I was immediately led to a pop up video ad that never displayed the close out x in the top right hand corner. I had to physically exit out of the app and restart it, and our course I immediately got another pop up video ad. There are also large static ads on the pages. Absolutely NOT would I ever recommend using this app, with or without the ads.
