Doesn't work

Downloaded this and just hot the same screen displayed in the description. Not moving. Does nothing. .99 is nothing but this is nonetheless a waste of .99!

Disappointed!

Very basic...not worth the money. I was hoping there would be audio content so I could hear the correct pronunciation, but there isn't hence my 1 star rating.

Wont even come up

It won't even start on my ipod

Helpful - but could be improved.

I find this app helpful but it can be improved in a couple of different areas.

1. There should be a palm card section type thing. Where you press a button and then a card shows up with the Greek letter in capital and lower case and you need to guess what it is. You then tap the screen and the card flips and reveals the answer.
2. You shouldn't have to go through it one after the other, there should be a menu where you can choose what letter/number you want.
3. There should be a replay button. This button should then replay the sound of the selected number/letter when you press it instead of going back and forth.
4. As well as the phonics for the letters there should also be the pronunciation of the name of the letter in English, I do realize it is in Greek and this is somewhat helpful for remembering letters etc. so maybe you could have a menu selecting what pronunciation you want?

Am looking forward to these things being implemented in the future!

Just know what you

You are paying a buck for a recording of the Greek alphabet.

Strengths:
-He's a native speaker

Weaknesses:
- Audio definitely recorded on a computer mic, it's o-k-a-y…
- Only has a male voice. A lady speaker please?
- Has no index menu for the letters -- that's right, if you want to hear a letter, you'll have to go through them all again.
- Has no repeat button. To hear a letter again, you'll have to go back, then go forward again. Yes, seriously.
- Uses a slow flipping animation (really, how many sides of this "page" are there?) between letters that robs you of your life, it could at least be sped up
- No IPA, English pronunciation, or other detailed description of what he's saying. Beta sounds like "vleetuh" when he says it but underneath he has only written "VE as in Venus" -- what does he mean?
- No playback speed mode
- No writing trainer for the letters
- No quizzing system
- No ability to record yourself and compare
- No example words

Overall, as an alphabet trainer it's far behind others for Japanese, Arabic, Russian, etc. A bit disappointing and a poor investment of a dollar for it's current featureless state and lack of even basic controls (index, replay).

Ok

It taught me how to read and pronounce Greek overnight but it doesn't teach you any words just Ξ‘-Ξ© and 1-20 so if you want to get a general idea it's perfect and very easy but it won't teach you everything but overall it's worth it

Not happy

The people who are selling this app are stealing from people. Shame on you iTunes for being a part of this scam.

Nice little app

I have downloaded several greek alphabet apps, this one is the best I've found so far. It's small and basic, but has succeeded in helping me to learn the greek alphabet and most importantly it has recordings on how each letter is pronounced, most other apps have just flashcards that leave you to guess how to pronounce the letters.

One very stupid app

Just says the letters. Come on. Nothing worth paying for

Waste of money

Great u think learn my numbers !!! All it tells u is 1 - 10 big deal, n days of the week ... So I thought wait till they update this app..... Still waiting .... Now they got another app out that they want u to pay for save yr money for an app that's worthwhile cause this sure isn't . Gave it a one star cause couldn't give it a big fat zero.

Greek

Very good ,just needs a replay button to hear the word more than once

Sigma!!

I didn't know you had to use a "soft" G to pronounce this and some of the other letters and numbers. This is pretty sweet with the audio of what sounds like a native speaker pronouncing each letter and number. I also like the phonetic guide that hints how to pronounce it with plain english words and it matches the audio. Why isn't there much more greek stuff on the app store? Please make more!!
