GrepTag is a keyword-scanning and tagging utility for your local TXT and EPUB files. Point it at your collection, search inside every file, and let it tag your library for you. GREP SCAN — FREE AND UNLIMITED Search the full text of every file you add. No upload, no developer-run cloud index — GrepTag reads directly from your files on device. Enter any keyword, tap Search, and see exactly which files contain it. KEYWORD PROFILES FOR RECURRING SCANS Build named profiles using AND, OR and NOT logic — "Sci-Fi AND dragons NOT romance" — and re-run them whenever your collection grows. Turn on Auto-run and new files are scanned and tagged automatically the moment they are imported. AUTOMATIC TAGGING Apply tags straight from scan results with a single tap, or add them by hand. Filter by one or more tags to pull up everything matching a theme. The free tier includes 5 tags; Pro unlocks unlimited. TXT COVER MATCHING (PRO) Most apps ignore TXT files when it comes to cover art. GrepTag finds covers automatically: when a folder holds an image with the same filename as your TXT file, it is picked up as the cover. You can also long-press any TXT file and paste a direct image URL — GrepTag downloads, crops and saves it alongside the file, so the cover survives every re-scan. EPUB COVER EXTRACTION — FREE EPUB covers are read straight from the file and shown in your grid. No manual setup needed. ORGANISE INTO FOLDERS (PRO) Move files into subfolders from inside the app. File paths are updated as part of the move, so nothing loses its tags. Wi-Fi SYNC BETWEEN DEVICES (PRO) Transfer files and tags directly over your own local Wi-Fi. iCloud is used only for small discovery metadata when enabled; your files are never uploaded to developer-run servers. EXPORTABLE TAG DATABASE (PRO) Tags live in a JSON database you can export, so the work you put into organising your collection stays yours and moves with you. Importing a tag database is free. EVERY MAJOR SCRIPT Latin, CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean), Arabic, Cyrillic — scan for keywords in any language.
