Dumb offer
I usually order through DoorDash and use DashPass to reduce fees. Recently, I received a card in my delivery bag stating that I would get $10 off if I used the restaurant's own app instead.
However, when I went to test it, I discovered I had to spend at least $30 to qualify for the discount. Between the $7 delivery fee and $3 in taxes not even including a tip that $10 discount doesn't even cover the extra costs, let alone any of my food.
When I signed up via the QR code, I received a text message saying, 'Ordering from our site saves you money and saves us from unfair fees on the delivery.' How is it fair for me to still pay these high fees? Furthermore, requiring a $30 minimum just to use a $10 discount is a terrible way to encourage customers to switch to a new app and I save nothing when DoorDash fees are half of the fees on app.
