Don’t bother but it’s too late
If you’ve bought a temp sensor that uses this app im afraid to say that it’s rubbish. The company went bust so there’s no chance it’s getting better
Don’t buy.
Bluetooth constantly disconnects and the app keeps displaying the last temperature with no warning of disconnection. Obviously no support from the app developer since it has been an ongoing problem for some time.
Pointless
Received as a gift. The fact that it does not “beep” or otherwise indicate on your device when the temperature is reached make it almost useless. The non-bluetooth monitors provide the exact same function but their “in the house” modules actually beep to tell you the food is done. I have several of those and will probably be tossing this one out.

Good thermometer. Bad app.
The thermometer and screen readout were great. Did a whole pig, using the dual probes (one in the pig, the other for air temp). But as great as that (and the pig) was, the app is great for all of 10 seconds until it apparently temporarily loses Bluetooth connectivity. Afterward, it doesn't tell you it lost connectivity. But if you look at the actual thermometer's screen it starts showing different temps then on the app. It's like the app stalls out and just continues to show the last temperature it registered at before losing connectivity. So don't trust the app at all, particularly for those expensive cuts of meat (which is the exact reason we use high-tech remote thermometers!). They really need to fix this, and asap. Highly disappointing.

App doesn't tell you when it loses it's bluetooth connection which it does frequently during a cook even at twelve feet away. They've been selling this junk for some time so they're not likely to fix it.

Not a Bluetooth app at all.
This should be easy
Hard to know if it's the app or the hardware, but all I wanted was to be able to see my food temperature on my iPhone, and I couldn't make that happen. Poor documentation and a non-intuitive Interface on the hardware.

I bought one of the Oregon Scientific thermometers on sale, figuring I'd give it a spin and see if it's any better than my old RF grill thermometer set. I wish I hadn't bothered.
The thermometer itself is fine, but the app is so bad that it's useless for tracking temperatures from a distance. The app constantly loses connection and does not easily pick it back up. If you plan on buying one of these thermometers, be ready to use it as a standalone unit, because the phone app is completely unreliable.

It's ok
It does drop Bluetooth unexpectedly. I haven't figured out why there is a camera in the app or what recipes is supposed to do. Good for knowing if your meat is safe to eat yet. No more undercooked chicken for me.
Doesn't pair with iPhone 7
Using on an iPhone 6, app works wonderfully allowing BBQing to continue and be monitored while doing other things inside. Unfortunately, one of us has updated to an iPhone 7+ and the iPhone fails to pair with the thermometer.

I don't know what the problem with the other reviewers is, but I I just bought this thing, paired it up according to the directions and it works just fine.
Dissappointment
The thermostat works awesome but this app doesn't work!! I couldn't get it to pair up through Bluetooth. Don't waste your time downloading this app and trying to get it to work. All of the reviews are correct. Oregon Scientific needs to fix this app if they are going to continue to sell their Bluetooth thermostats, otherwise that's false advertisement!!

Great app but drops connection
This app is for use with the Oregon Scientific BBQ meat thermometer and is linked via Bluetooth to your iPhone so you can keep an eye on meat temp remotely. It's a very clever piece of kit with one (major in my view) failing - if during use you switch to a different app (which you are bound to do at some point during a low and slow cook), then you lose the connection and have to "unpair" and re-pair the devices which is annoying. Sort that out and this becomes a great app/thermometer combination.

Terrible waste of $70
If the app closes or the phone locks, the whole thing needs to be repaired. Who has an app open for a 12 cook?

Totally worthless!
I downloaded the Grill Right app to use with my new Grill Right thermometer. Unfortunately, the app is frozen and won't respond to any commands. It won't connect via Bluetooth or even indicate that the app is working at all.
The quick start guide is lmpossible to follow, and the on line app support is just a photo of the worthless quick start guide.
You really dropped the ball on this unsuccessful attempt to create a useful product.

Worthless
Thermometer works well and unit tells temperature but the app is useless because it loses connection all the time and has to be unpaired and then repaired to get temperature readings again. There is no beep or warning at app. The touch screen of the device is way too sensitive. If I would have paid full price I would have taken back. I have another type that has a bluetooth unit that works much better around the house.

The app needs the ability to send alerts when the food is done or when the connection is lost with the app closed
Bluetooth issues
I agree with previous reviewer, app needs improvement. The Bluetooth disconnects if app closed or out of range and then the whole process needs to be reinstated to re pair. There is no visual or audible warning that the unit has lost connectivity. The pictures feature is a waste of time how about a temp warning feature not only when a temp is reached but if you are monitoring a grill temp if you go below a desired temp. The alarm is also not customisable. My neighbours must love the screech it makes at 3am! Could be so great but misses the mark due to poor app development.

While the idea is great, Oregon Scientific's implementation is very substandard.
The Bluetooth constantly breaks connection. Unless the app is open and the phone unlocked, no notifications are received.
The hardware works fine on its own, but pairing with the app is woefully inadequate.
In its current state, I wouldn't recommend this hardware/app combo to my worst enemy.

OK, but needs improvement
-needs to tell the user Bluetooth connection is lost. You'll know if the temp doesn't change between times you check, but there's no indication otherwise.
-the controls aren't very intuitive. I've got to get the instructions out if I don't use it for a few weeks.
-the touch sensitive face is too sensitive. You can't even hold it along the sides without changing your settings.
-can't shut the freaking beep off!
-no alerts to the phone. If you're not watching, you can blow though your ending temperature. There's a beep on the device at the grill, but why have Bluetooth connection if you have to stay at the grill?
The unit is functional and Bluetooth range is several yards and even across two floors of my house, but I wish it were better for the price.
